Hello everyone!! And welcome to another Monday post! I’m back on the blog today with a card that actually started out as an experiment. I purchased the complete set of Distress Oxide Inks and really wanted to play with them. I have made a couple of backgrounds and loved the results. So for today’s post I’ll show you how they look when used for watercolour.
I started by stamping the beautiful Mandala Flower in Versamark Ink onto some watercolour cardstock and heat embossed it with Detail White Embossing powder from Ranger (my new fave!).
I stamped the image towards to left side of my card panel, as I already had a plan in mind.
The colours I used were: Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Cracked Pistachio, Iced Spruce and Peeled Paint. I swiped a little of each colour onto a non-porous surface. Then the colouring began! I did the same technique as I use when colouring with regular Distress Inks. I load some ink onto my water brush and start where I want the darkest colour to be and work my way out.
