Alcohol Ink and Foiling Technique by Isha Gupta

June 17, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Cards, CAS

Hello everyone! Isha here with you today with a summer theme card. I have created an alcohol pearl ink background and then added some foiling accent using one of the stencils. I am waiting for summer to come hence I used the sweet images from “Under the Sea” stamp set, which I colored in using the no-line copic coloring technique.

I started by creating my technique layer, for which I added alcohol pearl inks to yupo paper. I actually swiped the colors across the paper and let it dry. The colors I used are (Villainous, Deception, Sublime, Enchanted, Splendor, Sail Boat Blue). Now, I added some of the Deco transfer gel through the Mini Arcs stencil and let it dry for a few hours or until the gel turns transparent and tacky. I then used Snowy White Fab foil by WOW! Embossing Powder, put on top of the stenciled area (mat side down) and ran it through my laminator. Remove the foil and we get this beautiful 3dimensional texture with the subtle pearl effect from the alcohol pearl layer.

Stamp the images using a very light grey ink onto a copic friendly paper. Draw the eyes using copic multi-liner pen. Color in the images and die-cut them using the coordinating dies. Adhere to the layer using 3D foam tape and apply clear shimmer pen from Nuvo.

Stamp and emboss the sentiment. Adhere the panel to a white cardbase. Adhere the sentiment stripe. To finish, add some Icy Sparkle Crystals (one of my favourites). Thank you for dropping by! Have a nice crafty day!

Simple Happy BEE-Day Shaker Card

June 8, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Cards, CAS, Shaker Cards

Hello, my Friends and Happy Monday!

Today I am sharing a super simple shaker card that could be used for any occasion depending on the sentiment you chose, this one will be for someone’s BEE-day!

CARD DETAILS

To begin, I stamped out the cute little bee from the HONEY BEES stamp set, colored it using Copic Markers, and then die cut it using the HONEY BEES coordinating dies.

Next, I stamped out the yellow pattern on the background using yellow ink and the ZIG ZAG STRIPES background stamp. I then die cut the panel using the outer frame from the SCALLOP HONEYCOMB COVER and I also die cut the window for the shaker area using the HONEYCOMB SHAKER. To the back of the panel, I glued a piece of ACETATE.

I then ran a piece of black cardstock through the die cut machine using the HONEYCOMB SHAKER and used the honeycomb shape to glue on the top of the acetate window.

With the background panel flipped onto its front, I added FOAM TAPE around the perimeter of the shaker window and then sprinkled my shaker bits which included GOLD FEVER  CONFETTI and SPARKLING HEARTS CONF. GLITTER inside the well. To close in the shaker area I used a piece of yellow cardstock and then attached the finished panel to an A2 top fold card front.

To finish the card off, I added a sentiment strip from the PEONY TRIMMINGS DIES that I stamped with a sentiment from the HONEY BEE stamp set and then popped up the cute be in the corner.

Thank you for stopping by and until next time… Happy Crafting!

You’re Sweet Card with Isha Gupta

June 1, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Floral Cards, Other

Hello everyone! Isha here with a floral card. I enhanced the soft image with a rainbow alcohol pearl background.

I started by creating a panel using Tim Holtz alcohol pearl inks. I simply took the colors (Villainous, Deception, Sublime, Enchanted, Splendor, Sail Boat Blue) in rainbow order and applied the ink to a yupo paper in swiping motion and then dabbing movement. Once I was happy with the result, I let this dry. Make a salmon pink cardbase. Die-cut a white cardstock layer using the Loops cover die. Adhere the alcohol pearl panel behind it. Stamp the sweet pea from the You’re So Sweet stamp, add a touch of color using zig clean color marker and die-cut it.

Die-cut the banner using the die from Best Ever die-set. I cut it once in white and once in the cardbase color. Stamp sentiment. Adhere the pink layer to the white by slightly offsetting it. Adhere the images and the banner. To finish, I applied a bit of spectrum noir clear sparkle pen to the florals. Thank you for dropping by! Have a nice crafty day!

Sea you soon card with Kaja

May 25, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS

Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I felt inspired by warm temperatures outside, so I made a cute summer card!

Take a look:

I haven’t seen my friends since the virus started to spread around Europe, so I am super happy that our slovenian goverment is slowly loosening the restriction for hanging out. I plan to send this one out to a friend and ask her to grab a coffee with me.

First, I stamped out the cute shark from Jawsome set and colored it in using alcohol markers. I went with a typical grey color and a bit of pink for the cheeks. Once the image was colored in, I made sure to add some details using white gel pen.I wanted to have a stricking background, so I decided to stencil a blue splashes using Ink splash stencil which give a look of spilled water. I used two colors of blue to get a nice gradiant look and I used Studio Katia ink blending brushes to do it. After the blending was done, I die cut the background with the scalloped rectangle die from Scallop hearts cover die to get a nice finished look.

Then, I stamped out the ‘Sea you soon’ saying from Under the sea stamp set. I used black ink and I pozitioned it in the center of the splashes.

The last thing I added was some clear drops and then I glued everything together using Studio Katia glue and foam tape.

Thanks for joining me!

Kaja

Pink watercolored floral card with Kaja

May 7, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Floral Cards, Hello Cards

Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I am here with a simple floral card.

Take a look:

I must admit that I am making mostly simple cards these days and the reason behind is that I want to send as much of them out as posibble in the time of the pandemic.

I started this card by coloring the floral image with watercolors and I went with a simple pink flowers that have green leaves. I made sure that the shadows are a bit darker in color and the highlights are brighter, but beside that the coloring is really simple. I used the beutiful stamp that can be found in Kind bouquet set.

Then, I die cut a sqare from white cardstock using the Dotted nested squares and stamped a sentiment on top that reads ‘Hello there’ from the words from Floral wreath set.

The last thing I added was a dark pink background on which I stenciled white lines using the Brush stroke waves stencil. I wanted to make sure that the colors from the background match with the colors on the colored image.

I glue everything together using Studio Katia glue and foam tape and the card was all finished!

Thank you for joining me!

Jaws The Two Of Us

May 5, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS

Hey lovelies, Tracy here with you today sharing my latest card that I made.

IMG-4585

I have used the super fun Jawsome stamp set to create a card for hubby. Sharks are something I have always loved and we was very lucky to swin with them once so it seemed like a perfect theme for this card.

I started off stamping and masking the sharks. I penciled in where the Fancy Scallop Hearts Die edge was so I knew about placement and inking. Once I was happy I used Spectrum Noir Water Reactive Inkpads along with Studio Katia Ink Blender Brushes to create a sunset, I removed the masking along the bottom to add some blue for sea.

Using my Spectrum Noir Markers I coloured in the sharks, adding some waves and shading to the sea area. I also added some birds to the sky and using a white gel pen I added some sea foam.

IMG-4586

I decided to add a touch of sparkle to the sea and the hearts using Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen.

IMG-4587

Using the die I then die cut it out and also trimmed down some Neenah and die cut the heart from that also. I stamped the sentiment on the front of the card and then added foam tape to the back of the white piece and adhered it to a card from. For the coloured piece I added some adhesive to the back and stuck this into place.

Another fun card to create and I love this stamp set and its possibilities.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you are all staying safe and staying well.

Happy Crafting

Hello Mixed Media Card with Isha Gupta

May 1, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS

Hello everyone! Isha here with a cute mixed media card today. Hope you all are staying safe, our lock down easing phase has started so hoping all will stay fine. I love creating mixed media, so decided to create a card using the technique 🙂

To start, I made a black cardbase. Now, I took a watercolor paper and added a wash of gesso. Now, I added a wash of distress ink to create the background. I then die-cut the micro hexagon cover plate die from white cardstock. Stamp the images from the whimsical Town stamp using fossilized amber distress ink, let dry. Tear the cover plate die-cut and adhere onto the card using gel medium. Stamp the cute little bee and flower from the Honey Bees stamp set, color using copic markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Adhere to the card.

To finish, I adhered some of the Frost chunky glitter to the bee wings and onto the card at few places. Thank you for dropping by! Have a nice crafty day!

No-line coloring with Kaja

April 22, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Floral Cards

Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts here with you today. These days are quite stressful with all the things that are going on, so I decided to relax with some no line coloring.

Take a look at the card that I made:

First, I stamped out the image of the flowers included in the You’re so sweet stamp set. I used watercolored paper and light grey ink, to be able to see the lines nicely. Then, I used my watercolor markers and started coloring the image using red for petals and green for leaves. You can see that the ink with which I stamped the image absorbed some of the color, so the stamped lines are seen in the color of the marker.

When the image was colored in and dry, I used a brush and some green ink to make some splotches in the backround of the flowers. I wanted to add another color, so I used light grey and made some more spashes.

Once everything was dry again, I used the biggerst heart die from the Fancy scallop hearts and die cut the image out. I put the flowers a bit off center – towards the left and cut away the right part of the heart.

For the background, I used kraft paper that goes nicely with the colors used for the coloring. It seemed a bit empty to me, so I went ahead and added some stenceling in the background for which I used light brown ink and Ink splash stencil. Of course I ink blended everything with Studio Katia brushes that are super easy to use!

The last thing I added was the sentiment and I went with a simple one that reads ‘hello’ and can be found in Floral wreath stamp set.

I glued everything together using Studio Katia glue and some foam tape for the sentiment and the card was all finished.

Thank you so much for joining me!

Pocket shaker birthday card

April 16, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Cards, CAS, Shaker Cards

Hello everyone! It’s Galina and today I want to show how to create a pocket shaker card using BIRTHDAY BALLOONS DUO stencil and It’s your Birthday Stamp set

How to make this card you can waych here or on Studio Katia Youtube chanel.

To create this card I start with applying inks through Balloon Stencil. For applying inks I used Studio Katia bl;ender brushes. I tried to apply inks on balloons edges at first, to leave a spot light in the centre. In this way balloons will look more realistic.

I covered a card panel with a clear acetate sheet from Studio Katia. I added a strong double sided adhesive tape on the back of the card panel and attached acetate sheet. It’s easier to fold acetate sheet on edges if you will use a scoring board. I didn’t remove a protective sheet from the tape on a top, to be able add sequins.

I stamped a birthday sentiment on the acetate sheet using archival black ink. If you don’t have such ink, stamp a sentiment on the card panel before adding an acetate sheet.

Because this shaker pocket don’t include any foam for extra space in it I recommend to use only a confetti or\and thin sequins.

Next you can adhere this pocket shaker on the regular card base or can attached a cardstock on the back of the shaker and leave the card as is.

Thanks for stopping by!

Galina
