Rainbow Birthday Card

April 3, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Cards, CAS

Hello everyone! Isha here with a rainbow birthday card today. Hope you all are staying safe. Yes! It’s rainbow again 🙂 Well I wanted to create a fun, cheerful card and rainbows are perfect..lol. I used this GORGEOUS sentiment from It’s Your Birthday stamp set as my focal point. To start, I sponged various distress inks to the top part of the cardbase in a rainbow of colors. I used Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers ink colors. I used the super soft blender brushes by Studio Katia and they really blend seamless. I then flicked some water for added dimension. Now, I die-cut a white card panel and a piece of vellum using the Sky Set Borders die. I adhered the vellum cloud behind the white panel and adhered this to the cardbase. I then stamped the “Happy Birthday” in black ink. Now for some more interest, I stamped and embossed the sentiment line on white stripe using white embossing powder by WOW! I then sponged the same colors of distress inks as above to this stripe. This balances the card beautifully. To finish, I adhered some of the Crystal Clear Confetti. Thank you for dropping by! Have a nice crafty day! Isha https://linkdeli.com/widget.js?id=36e575d4b4503edd8f9a

An Awesome Birthday with Tracey

April 2, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, CAS

Hi there, it’s Tracey back again today with another fun birthday card featuring the Half Striped Cover die.

I cut a piece of heavyweight white cardstock with the Half Striped Cover Die. I used the Studio Katia blending brushes and then I ink blended each of the diagonal strips that fell from the cut using Distress Oxide inks in rainbow order. I used Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twited Citron, Peacock Feather, Wilted Violet and Chipped Saphire. After I blended the ink I tapped some clean water on to the strips and picked some of the colour up with paper towel.

I glued the Half Striped Cover Die to a white top folding card base with Studio Katia liquid glue. The I inlaid each of my coloured strips into the die cut also with liquid glue.

The sentiment from Birthday Greetings (one of my absolute favourite sets) was stamped directly to the card base with black ink.

To finish the card I glued some sparkly crystals around the sentiment. I used Ocean Wave Crystals , Peridot Crystals and Cupid’s Kiss Crystals .

A cheery clean and simple design Thanks so much for stopping in today.

Floral wreath card with Kaja

March 19, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Floral Cards

Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I made a floral card to brighten somebodies day!

Take a look:

Today, it was a beautiful sunny day in Slovenia, so I went outside and I stamped out a Floral wreath stamp that I colored in using watercolor markers. I went with blues and purples for the blooms and green for the leaves.

Next, I trimmer the paper down to a square shape that is slightly smaller than the card base. I put a piece of gray card stock behind it to create a simple backdrop.

Then, I stamped a word ‘sending’ from Japanese peony stamp set in black ink in the right part of the circle. I die cut the word ‘hugs’ from the Lovely words in the same gray card stock I used for the background and the sentiment now reads ‘Sending hugs’.

I glued everything together using Studio Katia glue and foam tape.

Thank you for joining me!

Kaja

  • Studio Katia – FLORAL WREATH
  • Studio Katia – JAPANESE PEONY
  • Studio Katia dies – LOVELY WORDS

Light Up the World with Tracey

March 18, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Other

Hi there it’s Tracey here today hoping to bring you a smile when there is so much going on in our world. Today I have a card using the very cute Paws for Kindness stamps and dies!

I stamped the girl with the cat and dog and coloured the images with Copic Markers. The image was die cut using the co-ordinating dies and set aside.

I prepared the main panel by die cutting the Scallop Honeycomb Cover from white cardstock. Before I stenciled the panel I taped down to my craft mat with Purple Tape so it wouldn’t shift underneath the stencil. I placed the Love for Paws Stencil over the panel and taped it down to my craft mat also with Purple Tape . Using the Studio Katia blending brushes I blended Distress Oxide inks inside the stitched border starting at the bottom of the panel and worked towards the top. I used Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks.

The sentiment was added to the top of the panel using the Paws for Kindness stamp set. The top line ‘light up the world with’ was white embossed and then die cut using one of the new banner dies from the Studio Katia Peony Trimmings die set.

I covered the card front with a piece of blue cardstock that co-ordinated with the stenciling. Then the Scallop Honeycomb Cover was attached using Studio Katia doubled-sided white foam tape. To finish off the card I attached the girl with the cat and dog also with the doubled-sided white foam tape.

I think the sentiment created with the Paws for Kindness stamp set is very appropriate with all that is going on in the world today. This one will go out to a friend that needs a hug during this time of social distancing. Thank you so much for joining me today. Wishing you all good health and happiness.

Cards with MICRO HEXAGON COVER DIE Part 2

March 10, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Hello Cards, New Release, Other

Hello everyone! It’s Galina with you today. I’m so excited to share with you a second part of my card making series with MICRO HEXAGON COVER DIE. I made 3 mosaic style cards.

How I made those cards you can watch here or on Studio Katia channel

I colored my two cards with copic markers. Here are color combos I used:

Green card : G28, G24, YG95, Blue Card: B26, R24, R02

To embelish this card I used a green crystal mix and liquid glue from Studio Katia

To create a nice label for this car I used a small die from Dotted Pattern set 4, I cut out a  label from a red cardstock and cut it in a half with a scissors.

For this card I cut out a white frame using bigger die from otted Pattern set 4. I placed a piece of a vellum under it to show the beautifull card background

Hope you like this cards! Don’t forget to share with us your creations with this die!

Have a great day!

Hello everyone! Natalia is here. And today I would like to show you simple but very cute card made with the JAWSOME and UNDER THE SEA.

First, I stamped the cute images from the JAWSOME and UNDER THE SEA stamp sets. Colored them with copic markers. I made highlights using white and silver pen.

When my coloring was done, I die cut the images with coordinating dies.

I took two panels of white and grey cardstock. I cut out a window in the grey panel using paper knife and ruler. I inked white panel with Alcohol Inks. To make the panel look more interesting I added some splatters.

Next, I adhered the marine life to the grey panel with foam tape. I added a sentiment from used set and added some CLEAR DROPS for a finishing touch.

Crafty Birthday with Tracey

March 5, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Cards, CAS

Hi there it’s Tracey back here again today sharing a birthday card that’s perfect for a crafty friend. I have been building up my stash of birthday cards lately and creating cards to share with a crafty friends has been just what I needed to kick away those winter blues.

To start the card off I created a blended background panel using the newly released Ink Splash stencil. I blended Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade to create the base layer. I flicked some water over the ink blending and picked up some of the colour using paper towel. Once dry I trimmed the panel down to 4″ x 5 1/4″.

Next I stamped both of the stamps from the Artsy Trimmings stamp set using Copic friendly ink and then cut the two pieces out with the co-odinating Artsy Trimming die set. I wanted to select certain crafty tools from the two stamped pieces that would fit along the bottom of my A2 sized card base and I didn’t want them to appear in the order they were stamped. So I was able to easily fussy cut only the tools I wanted and then I coloured them with Copic markers.

I covered the front of my top folding card base with black cardstock and then attached the ink blended background panel. Along the bottom of the panel I adhered the die cut crafty tools in the order that I wanted them to appear with foam tape. Near the top of the panel I added one of my favourite sentiments from the Birthday Greetings stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. To finish the card off I added some crystals for a sparkly finish.

Thanks so much for stopping in today to create with me. See you again next time!

March 3, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Hello Cards, New Release, News, Other

In the video below I’m sharing my favorite techniques with an intricate dies and some die cutting tips. It’s a first part of my two series videos with intricate dies.

With this background die you can create a layered detailed cards or shakers or even a clean simple cards. I made two simple cards with one die cut. I was inspired by hexagon graphic I found on pinterest and I decided to recreate it on my card.

For my next cards I used shinny glitter from Studio Katia ans shinny cardstock.

I add a beautiful heart frames on the both cards. I used FANCY SCALLOP HEARTS DIES and a vellum for the inner parts.

I stamped sentiments on the vellum with archival black ink.

For the last two cards I made same frames with a vellum inside.

To embelish my cards I add crystals and drops from differentsets.

I hope you like these cards and will try some techniques with this die. Don’t miss a second part of this video, soon I’ll share more inspiration with this die.

Impressed heart die with Kaja

March 2, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Floral Cards

Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I have prepared a simple card that futures a technique I haven’t used for a long time. Can you guess which one just by looking at the card?

If you said that I used die to make an impression in the paper you were right! First, I took the heart die from the Fancy scallop hearts die and I put it on the square piece of paper. Then I used the silicone pad along with my diecutting mashine to get it’s impression instead of die cut.

Next, I stamped out the floral image from the You’re so sweet set and I imediately masked it using masking paper that I previously fussy cut in a shape of this flower. Next, I masked off the edges of the square and to do so, I used masking paper from which I die cut a heart. Next, I used Studio Katia brushes to ink blend blue ink from the edges of the heart towards the center. I made sure to leave the center lighter and the edges darker.

Once everything was ink bleneded I removed the masks and colored in the floral image that I previously stamped. I used alcohol markers for it and in the end I added some white gel pen details.

Then, I added the sentiment that reads ‘Just because’ from the same You’re so sweet set. I put it on a white strip and popped it up using foam tape.

The really last thing I added were some clear drops and the card was all finished!

Thank you for joining me!
