To start my card off I created an distress ink smooshing background using Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed and Moved Lawn onto a Tim Holtz watercolor panel. I pressed each ink pad onto a sandwich bag, sprayed them with water and placed the panel on them. Then I turned the paper with the bag over and with my fingers smudged inks as I wanted it all over the panel.
Then I stamped floral cluster using COPIC friendly Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink. I used masking paper to create masks for my flower to stamp them not overlapped. I tried to stamp flower over yellow and pink inks smooshing, and leaves over green. On the other hand I didn’t try to be very precise, which was almost impossible even if I’d try. I got parts of flowers stamped over green ink, and leaves over pink and yellow. As you can see in the end result – it didn’t really matter.
The flowers and leaved then were colored using COPIC markers. The flowers stamped over yellow ink I colored with yellow markers, used red markers to color over pink ink and leaves were colored with green.
After I finished my coloring I trimmed the panel to 3.75 x 5″. For the sentiment I choose very beautiful Thank You from Thank You So Much Stamp Set which I also stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black dye ink. This was an epic fail decision as my sentiment blended in with stamped florals. This happens with me all the time – after so much work put into a card I can ruin it with the last action. Of course I didn’t want to discard this card and all that work I invested in it. So I added shadow to the sentiment using white gel pen and this seemed to improve the situation. With the same pen I also added several dots around the florals. Along with color droplets, which I made with the same inks and small brush (just diluted some ink with water, picked up with brush and sprinkled all over the panel).
Also I covered the floral images with Clear Wink Of Stella. Of course it’s not visible on photos, but it is in real life.
I added several clear droplets of different sizes. Sometimes people as me what adhesive I use for these transparent droplets. I always use Ranger Multi Medium Adhesive in Matte finish. It dries clear and is not visible through clear droplets. Plus – this is very strong adhesive. I always use it for small non paper embellies like sequins, dots etc.
Lastly I foam mounted the panel onto a white card base I made out of Neenah Solar White cardstock. To mount my panel I used a piece of white fun foam, cut a bit smaller then the panel, which I adhered with very strong Tombow Xtreme adhesive (it works great for stubborn surfaces, like foam or watercolor paper).
Have a wonderful day!
Erica here with my blog post to go with the card I made as part of the 1st Birthday Celebration blog hop for Studio Katia! (You might have seen my card already if you took part in the hop on May 4th but here is the whole shebang in words too.)
As soon as I heard that the prompt for this blog hop was shaker cards I decided to do a see-through vase and fill it with blue and transparent sequins and shaker beads. Adding lots of flowers for the vase was just a bonus. I have done a card in the past when the vase was propped up on the front of the card but for this one I decided to do a flat front and cut the shaker compartment into the back, if that makes sense? I’m reading this back and it just seems like a mad riddle to be honest.. Hopefully the photos will explain better than my words do!
I started out by cutting out a tall and thin card base, 7″ x 4″, in a fabulous linen textured white card stock. In this panel I cut out the smallest of the Stitched Creative Nested Rectangles towards the bottom, leaving enough room to add enough adheisive to make sure no sequins escape the shaker compartment. Using this as a guide I cut out 4 panels in the same size and die cut the ‘vase’ on each one. These I layered up using LOTS of double sided tape and for the top layer I added a piece of acetate to the front panel. This whole lot I set aside for a minute as I wanted to stamp some flower stems on the negative cut (in the white linen textured card stock) before adding this to the back of the shaker compartment. Using the skinniest Brush Strokes stamp I stamped several stems using a green ink. Then to add a little bit extra I stamped some skinnier stems, from a stamp set from The Ton, using a darker ink.
Turning my card panel upside down, I filled the shaker compartment with Clear Iridescent Seed Beads, Icy Breeze Sequins in 4mm size and also some metallic blue 4mm sequins which sadly aren’t available any more so you could use Enchanted Sea Sequins or Light Blue Metallic Star Sequins for a jazzy look. The ‘inside of the vase’-bit I gently added as a lid and then I adhered the final piece of card stock to keep it all together.
Moving on to my flowers I reached for the big bloom in the Thank You So Much set and I stamped up two on Strathmore Bristol Vellum water colour paper and heatembossed them in white embossing powder. Using my Zig markers, I coloured them in rich reds with hints of pink. As usual the florist in me thought ‘this bunch needs greenery and some smaller flowers too’ so I stamped up another flower from the Together We Bloom as well as the biggest leaves. This I stamped two together to make a slightly bigger bunch of leaves. All this also got coloured in using Zig markers. Everything then got fussy cut.
Arranging these into a nice, big bunch I adhered them to the card using foam tape to add some extra dimension. As this is for a birthday it needed a sentiment and to keep things simple, as the rest of the card has a lot going on, I just stamped ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Birthday Lions in black on a piece of white card stock and cut it down quite small. This I also adhered with foam tape on the top flower and with that, the card was done!
I hope you have enjoyed this post and will enjoy the rest of the hop! Liliuska here and I’d like to share with you a one layer card I made using Mandala Stamp. Ever since I received this stamp I wanted to make a card with wobbler. Those are always so much fun!
Since this is a one layer card I decided to add some texture to the card base by scoring lines on it. Next I stamped Mandala in the middle and covered it with a mask. I stamped the image in the top left and bottom right corner and spritzed the card with shimmer spray. Since I used Oxide Inks two corner mandalas look as if they were heat embossed and middle mandala looks nicely crisp.
I stamped mandala on a separate piece of paper, coloured part of it with Polychromos pencils and cut out that part with scissors. I adhered it to the card base on a wobbler. To add sentiments I die cut a black strip using long frame die from Darling Ribbon & Dotted Frames Creative Dies and stamped two sentiments. I cut the strip in half and adhered it on both sides of the wobbler. Last touch – crystal clear sequins with clear drops in the middle.
I hope you enjoyed what I prepared for you today. Have a wonderful and inspiring day!
Hello everyone, Olga is here today with cute card featuring Together We Bloom and Birthday Lions clear stamp sets.
I just love this lion from the set of Birthday Lions very much. I really like his dynamism.
So this time I decided to make him a real gentleman descending from above with a bouquet of peonies. He’s a real romantic, is not he?
I’ve made my card with masking technique.
First I’ve stamped the flowers from Together We Bloom set, one by one, each with a mask. Then I’ve prearranged a place for my lion, and stamped a butterfly. I taped it with a mask and stamped a lion.
After all this, I’ve colored all the images using ZIG markers, stamped the sentiment TO YOU from the set of Duo Talk and added the embellishments – sequins from Crystal Rainbow Fusion, Clear Round drops and Googly Eyes.
Hope, You’ll like it. And have a nice day!
Kristina here with another floral card featuring Together We Bloom Clear Stamp Set.
I’ve started by stamping the flowers from the Together We Bloom set on white card stock with VersaMark ink with gold embossing powder and colored all the images using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and fussy cut all the images.
Next I used the largest frame from the Darling Ribbon & Dotted Frames and used Mandala stamp to create a background. First I made the impression in the center with light grey ink, then used masking and made impression on the sides.
I’ve added the sentiment Together We Bloom in black ink and arranged all the images in the center in the shape of bouquet. Using foam tape I’ve adhered everything together and attached it to a white card base, the card base turned out slightly larger than regular 4.25 x 5.5 inches.
To finish off the card I’ve added a few embellishments. This card turned out to be very gentle and elegant, and just incredibly shimmering in the light.
Thank You for stopping by, have a crafty Sunday!
Hi there! Svetlana here and today I have a floral project to share featuring the Together We Bloom and Thank You So Much stamp sets.
I wanted to created a large bouquet of peonies. I’ve stamped the largest peony from Thank You So Much set first, used masking and stamped all additional peonies from Together We Bloom. These two sets are meant to be used together. I used copic markers to color the flowers and added the sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Valentyna here with another card featuring Together We Bloom stamp set. Love this flowers! They are so easy to color and to fuzzy cut. Small elements allow arranging pretty composition.
To start off my card I chose a white card base and stenciled it with very new Nuvo Embellishment mousse using Holtz Speckles stencil. While the stenciling was drying I stamped flower/leaf elements onto Neenah Solar white cardstock and colored them with Chameleon pens. After coloring I fuzzy cut all elements to prepare them for the placing onto the
white frame I die cut earlier with Studio Katia Stitched Creative Window.
As my background came up very busy I decided to go with a tiny sentiment. Which, actually, fits this layout perfectly. I miss you from the And the Fox Says set stamped onto the banner from Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames die set. I cut it with scissors to fit into small space between flower and frame edge.
Lastly, three Clear Round drops to finish the card.
Hope you like ti!
Thank you for visiting!
Hi everyone Svetlana here with a fun Birthday Card. Featuring Lions and beautiful peonies. SUPPLIES:
I wanted to create a floral border with lions in the center. I used ZIG clean color real brush tip markers to color my lions on the water color card stock.
I love how this card turned out, I hope you do too.
Have a great day!
