Let’s Snuggle with Laurie

February 13, 2017 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

It’s MONDAAAYYY!!  That means it’s time for me to share another card for you!!  Today I used the super cute stamp set, Foxes.  This set is super adorable with both outline images and solid images.  I chose to use the snuggling mama and baby fox, along with some other images including the wood stump, mushroom and outlined heart.

SUPPLIES:

Foxes Clear Stamp Set

And the Fox Says… Clear Stamp Set

Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Creative Dies

Crystal Clear Flower Sequins

I coloured all the images with my Promarkers and fussy cut them out.  Before I adhered my images, I blended some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink onto my die cut, which is from the Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Creative Dies.  For my sentiment I used the And the Fox Says stamp set.  The sentiments in this set go perfectly with the Foxes stamp set!!

Using a combination of foam adhesive and tape runner, I adhered my scene.

I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut three hearts from the Foxes stamp set to place around my critters.  For a bit of sparkle, I used some Crystal Clear Flower Sequins, clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents!!
Thank you so much for stopping by today!!
If you’re on Instagram, be sure to follow on Valentine’s Day, as we have something super special planned.  Also, just to let you know, the NEW RELEASE is coming soon!!!!
Hugs, Laurie

Je T’aime with Katia

February 10, 2017 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Happy Friday everyone!

Katia here popping to in to share quick Valentine Cards. These cards are simple and fast to make.

SUPPLIES:

Sweet Heart Candy Clear Stamp Set

Birthday Lions Clear Stamp Set

Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frame Creative Die Set

Mini MISTI

I’ve started by stamping the lion on to the cardstock. I’ve made 40 mini cards for Lev’s school and with MISTI it only took less than an hour to complete the entire project. I used copic markers to color the lions and the heart on one of the cards. I’ve applied NUVO Crystals Drops to bring more sparkle to the heart.

Here’s a close up of the heart.

For my next card, I used a solid heart stamp in different colors. To complete both cards I die cut out Lawn Fawn Clouds borders and used Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue to make clouds for the background.

I love how these cards turned out, I hope you did as well.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Katia

Valentine Hearts

February 9, 2017 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Hi there!

Svitlana is here. Today I want to share a simple Valentine card using Sweet Heart Candy stamp set.

SUPPLIES:

Sweet Heart Candy Clear Stamp Set

Crystal Clear Fusion

Creative Nested Squares Dies

To start off I die cut a creative square out of white cardstock and stamped two hearts from set using red ink. I then made a girl and boy out of them by white embossing smiley faces. Next I stamped a sentiment using a stamp from the same set and stamping with brown ink.

I cut and scored a card base out of kraft cardstock and stamped lots of sentiments from the same set also using brown ink. This set has so many sentiments, for all your Valentine and love needs. There are some classic one, as well as fun and corky.

The card base was made a half an inch narrower then an A2 size for it to be more proportional with the creative square. Which I them foam mounted onto the base.

I finished off my card by adding several clear sequins and tying a twine around the base.

Have a great day!

Svitlana

Hello friends,
Sharing Be Mine card using Dotted Frame, Sweet Heart Candy stamp set and sequins.
This time I decided to use patterned paper for the background (PTI mini market kit), which I die-cut with Dotted Frame die. I stamped a heart with SSS Magnolia ink and then added an outline and the sentiment in SSS white pigment ink. Fuzzy cut it and placed it in the middle of the spreading rays.

Snuggling Foxes with Svitlana

January 20, 2017 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Hello everyone!

Svitlana is here today sharing a cute card using stamps from the recent release Foxes and And The Fox Says.

Aren’t those foxies adorable? They’re made to snuggle with. I used a stamp with two snuggling foxes, which is a solid one. You can use it by just stamping a regular way. But I wanted to make my card kind of “watercolory”, so I did no line coloring here. A stamping and coloring was made with distress inks.

Sweet Valentine Card with Studio Katia Snuggling Foxes. Card by @s_shayevich First I stamped foxed with Rusty Hinge onto a Tim Holtz watercolor paper, using the second generation stamping. Which means I first stamped onto a scratch paper and then stamped onto a piece of watercolor one. Next I colored them using Rusty Hinge and Spiced Marmalade inks. I pressed the ink pad onto my craft mat, was picking them up with a damp brush and colored foxes.

Usually when I color with Distress inks I like using waterbrushes, as they have sturdy but flexible plastic bristles. But I never put water inside. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t like the amount of water that flows from them. I don’t even press and still get like a puddle on my paper. For some techniques it can be beneficial, but for coloring small images I prefer to pick up water from a glass. This way I have more control of it.

Sweet Valentine Card with Studio Katia Snuggling Foxes. Card by @s_shayevich

After coloring red parts of foxes the same way I colored eyes and noses using Black Soot ink.
Then I masked foxes off and stamped the tree stump using Ground Espresso. Then it was colored with Ground Espresso and Gathered Twigs. Foxes on the stump then were cut out using scissors. I also stamped, colored and cut out a tiny leaf, which then adhered to the stub.

I cut a watercolor panel and created a simple watercolor washes background, using Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the top part and Mowed Lawn for the bottom.

The foxes were foam mounted to the panel.
I decided that this card needs something so I stamped several tiny hearts from the same set using Carved Apple and colored them with the same ink. Then they were covered with glossy accents.

To finish off my card I stamped a sentiment from And The Fox Says set, foam mounted in onto a Peanut Fudge card base and added several sequins from Foxy sequins fusion.

Have a wonderful day!

Love You Card – by Laurie

January 10, 2017 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Good morning! Laurie here stopping by this morning to share another card using one of my favorite sets Pink Winter!!!  I also used a stamp set from the latest release which is so adorable, Sweet Heart Candy.

I started by stamping the flamingo in Intense Black ink from Simon Says Stamp (it’s my new favorite black ink!).  I then stamped a mirror image of the flamingo by using the backside of a large clear stamp.  I used my Mini Misti for this.  I placed the large stamp, face down onto the door of the Misti, then stamped the image (I found I had to use Versafine Onyx Black for this) directly on top.  I then closed the door and gave firm pressure.  As you can see, it took me a couple of tries to get a decent image.
Before colouring the flamingos in with my Stabilo markers, I traced around both of them with a waterproof pen to darken and thicken the lines.  For my second layer of color, I decided to use a Clear Wink of Stella pen to blend out the color on the wings only. Then it was time to fussy cut!!
And yes, I had to cut in between their legs…slight OCD 🙂
I used the Stitched Creative Window Die Set and cut that twice, once in white cardstock, the other in grey.  I wasn’t sure which color I wanted to use.  I used the white cardstock inner pieces and used a few shades of teals to do some ink blending on each.

I decided to stack the two frames together for slight dimension, placing the white on top.  My cardbase started off the standard size with rounded corners and a strip of patterned paper at the bottom.
I didn’t like it, the pinks were WAY off! So I simply trimmed off a quarter of an inch on each end.  The end size is 3 3/4 X 5 1/2 inches.  I adhered the frame to the base with liquid glue as well as the inner die cuts.  I adhered the flamingos with a combination of foam adhesive and liquid glue.
For the sentiment, I die cut the stitched heart from the Stitched Notebook Set and stamped “love you” from the Sweetheart Candy stamps.  I brushed some light pink ink around the edges.  I adhered that to the centre panel with foam adhesive.  And lastly, it was time for some sequins!!  I, of course, used the Pink Winter Sequins Fusion!!  And here’s the final product!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day!!

Under the Quilt Snuggles by Erica

December 27, 2016 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Hello hello!

How is everyone doing after the Christmas festivities? Anyone else eat too much and had shrinking powdered for the washing machine instead of washing powder?? (She asks as she’s munching on chocolate truffles whilst typing… )

We have had the worst Christmas weather ever here: gale force winds, sideways rain and freezing temperatures but no snow whatsoever. The wind was so strong the whole house rattled several times over the four days the storm raged, which made us want to stay in bed under the duvet all day. Even the dogs were refusing to go outside and that’s saying something seeing as they usually love being outside…!

The whole ‘wanting to stay in bed under the duvet’ attitude was actually the inspiration behind today’s card so let’s get to it, shall we?

Using the Elongated Dotted Hexagon dies I decided to create a ‘quilt’ by piecing different coloured pieces together. As I was in a bit of a lovey-dovey mood when I made this, I went for pinks. One block colour and one gingham patterned paper was used for this and I cut out all three pieces (I try to keep my dies together unless I really have to take them apart) twice in each colour. Then it was a simple matter of taping them together in a pattern using alternating coloured pieces to create the quilted look.

For the card base I used a light pink colour card stock which I cut out in an A2/5.5″x4.25″ size. Then I puzzled the pieces together to cover the card base and there was some cutting and glueing done to make sure the corners were also covered. You will only need 4 pieces to cover the whole card, with leftovers too. To be honest, you might be able to get away with just three but I have not tried that yet. If you try it, leave me a comment here and let me know how you got on!

Once the ‘quilt’ was created, I needed a sentiment and I wanted one that said something like ‘let’s stay in and cuddle’ or along those lines. I didn’t have one BUT using a bit of masking and stamping, I created my own sentiment that works perfectly! The sentiments are all from And the Fox says and it was a simple matter of using a bit of masking tape to cover up the bits I didn’t want to go on the banner (which is from Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames) The banner itself was adhered to the card using foam tape to raise it up from the background a little bit.

I think this sort of card would work really well for a new baby card too, just use blue for a boy and light pink for a girl. With a sentiment like ‘welcome to the world/family’ it will be a really sweet card.

Well, that’s it for me for this year. See you all in 2017 for lots of new fun stuff, exciting news and announcements!!

Happy New Year and happy crafting everyone!

Erica
