Greetings Of The Season with Natalia

December 23, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Other, Winter Holidays

Hi there! It’s Natalia here and today I share with you my super cute diorama/shadow box card using beautiful Studio Katia supplies from the latest release – HAPPY SNOWMEN.

First, I stamped the cute images from the HAPPY SNOWMEN, KOBI’S ICE DAY, HOLIDAY VILLAGE, KOBI BEARING GIFTS, WHIMSICAL TOWN, WINTER KOBI. Colored with copic markers and die cutting them with coordinating dies.

Next, I blended some distress inks onto white piece of paper.  Another 3 gray pieces of paper I die cutting with DOTTED PATTERNS SET 3 CREATIVE DIE, NESTED OVALS and DARLING RIBBON & FRAMES CREATIVE DIES.

This 3 panels had next dimensions: 13.6 x 16.6, 13.6 x 14.6 and 13.6 x 12.6. Panels scored at 3 and 13.6; 2 and 12.6; 1 and 11.6 accordingly and the flaps are glued together after the overlap. Then I diecut windows in decreasing size in the center of each to get more of a tunneled-look to my card. (All dimensions are in cm.)

Placed all the elements on the white paper panels using double-sided foam tape. Heat embossed the sentiment from HOLIDAY VILLAGE stamp set using white powder. I decorated everything with IRIDESCENT ICE FLAKES.

Thank you so much for join me today, have a great day!

Winter Shaker Card with Laura

December 20, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Floral Cards, Shaker Cards, Winter Holidays

Hi everyone! It’s Laura here and today I am back with a Winter shaker card featuring the Ponsettia Border and the Holiday Village stamp set. At the end of this post, you will also find a video tutorial, showing how I made it.

For the window of my shaker I used the Darling Ribbon & Dotted Frames Dies. I also used the Simple Dotted  Borders on the cardstock panel that I die cut out of the center to create a hill.
I blended Spectrum Noir Silver Midas ink on the hill and I used Rose Gold and Pink Lace on the shaker background. These are metallic pigment inks that will add a shiny finish to my card.

To fill up my shaker I used a mix of Studio Katia embellishments: I used Frost Glitter, Sparkle Glitter, Silver Polka Sequins, Crystal Clear Confetti and Majestic Confetti.
As I mentioned, the images I used are from the Poinsettia Border and Holiday Village stamp sets. I colored them with my Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies.

For my sentiment I used the banner die in the Darling Ribbon&Frames dies. I stamped one of the greetings in the Holiday Village stamp set with Silver  Midas ink and blended the edges with Pink Lace Midas Ink.

Don’t forget to check out the video tutorial, if you are interested in the step by step process for this winter shaker card!

Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Laura

Let It Snow with Dana

December 19, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Winter Holidays

Happy Thursday, everyone!

It’s Dana and I’m sharing a winter season card with you today.

To start, I heat embossed Snowflakes in silver onto white card stock and die cut them out using Snowflakes Dies.

I then ink blended them with Distress Oxide Inks using Ink Blender Brushes. I used Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves and Shaded Lilac.

I also white heat embossed a sentiment from Snowflakes onto black card stock.

For background, I die cut a cover twice from kraft and white card stocks using Half Striped Cover Die. I adhered kraft one and negative piece from white one onto patterned paper as shown in the picture.

To finish off, I popped up snowflakes using foam tape. Hope you enjoyed this card.

Happy crafting!

Dana

Peaceful Poinsettias

December 17, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Floral Cards, Winter Holidays

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing some last minute holiday card inspiration! I have really been enjoying finding ways to add pops of red into my Christmas cards, as it’s not normally a color to which I’d gravitate, but there’s something about a beautiful, crisp red that just screams Christmas to me! For today’s card, I’ve kept my color scheme relatively simple, with a light gray as the primary color and a few pops of red to keep things interesting. Let’s get started with the details!

I began by die cutting the Mini Polka Dot cover plate die from some pale gray cardstock, then backed it with some bright red cardstock. The contrast between the two colors is fantastic! It would have looked beautiful with some red glitter or foil cardstock behind it, too!

Next, I stamped the main image from the lovely Poinsettia Border stamp using white pigment ink on some more gray cardstock. I then used my Caran D’ache Luminance colored pencils to do some no line coloring, keeping the red, gray, and white theme running throughout the bouquet. I die cut it with the coordinating die.

Next, I red heat embossed a greeting from Poinsettia Border on some more gray cardstock, trimming it down to a small rectangular sentiment strip. I mounted the die cut floral bouquet on a Dotted Oval, die cut from some heavyweight vellum. I love using basic vellum die cuts to soften a patterned background! Finally, I adhered all of the die cut pieces on the card front using foam adhesive for lots of extra dimension.

Well, that’s all for me today! I hope you’re past the holiday hustle and bustle and can just sit and enjoy the pleasant aspects of the season. If not, I hope your to-do list grows shorter by the day! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous holiday!

Foiling using Stencil with Isha Gupta

December 16, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Winter Holidays

Hello everyone! Isha here sharing a card using foiling with stencil technique. I really am in love with the Autumn Leaves stencil and find them to be so versatile.

I started by taking a red cardbase. I then created the mat layer for which, I simply applied Deco Foil transfer gel through the stencil. Let it dry for a couple of hours. Once dried, I ran it through the laminator using Amber Watercolor deco foil. I then stamped and embossed the images onto a piece of watercolor paper using Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder by WOW! I now colored them using the zig clean color real brush markers. For shimmer I used Daniel Smith Pearl Shimmer watercolor.  Now die-cut them using the coordinating dies.

Stamp and emboss the sentiment onto vellum stripe. adhere to the mat layer. Assemble everything together. Thank you for dropping by! Have a nice crafty day!

Merry Christmas card by Olga

December 14, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Floral Cards, Winter Holidays

Hello everyone! Olga Moss here with some Christmas inspiration. Christmas is almost on the threshold, and therefore we are all in the midst of preparations for the holidays. But don’t forget about to review the past year, too. Have you been able to accomplish everything planned? One of the most important points of my cardmaking life was – to start actively using forgotten watercolors. And I succeeded! I’m pleased with myself. So today I have this Christmas card with a magnificent bouquet of poinsettias!

For this cars I used our POINSETTIA BORDER stamp set with POINSETTIA BORDER DIES. I started by ink blending Seedless Preserves Distress ink in the upper left corner and the lower right corner. Then, I stamped the large flower image from the set onto watercolor paper and coloured it using Kuretake watercolor paint.

Once I finished my watercolouring each piece,  I let it air dry and die cut it out once it was completely dry.

I set the flowers aside while I worked on the background. I stamped the sentiment using Archival Jet Black Ink. Next, I added lots of splatters with white gouache onto both, my background and the flowers.

I wanted to add texture to the background. For that I used CONFETTI STENCIL with Nuvo Glimmer Paste. This game not only nice texture, but also fun sparkles.

I hope you enjoyed the inspiration I had for you today. Thank you for stopping by!

CAS Snowflake Stencil Cards by Ilda

December 11, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Shaker Cards, Winter Holidays

Well hello, my friends! Ilda here.

Today I am back with a couple of Christmas cards inspired by the new Snowflake Stencils from Studio Katia.

To begin I started by adding Glimmer paste to both panels. For this first card, I used the SNOWFLAKE STENCIL and applied Moonstone Glimmer paste and set it off to dry. Once it was dry I used the frame from the LOOPS: CREATIVE DIE to cut out the card front for what would become the shaker window. Next, I used the ELEGANT SCALLOP OVAL to die cut the opening for the shaker. To the back of the panel, I glued on a piece of ACETATE that I trimmed to cover the opening.

I then used the window as a guide to figure out where to add the sentiment. I then stamped the sentiment from the GIFT TAG GREETINGS: WINTER directly onto the front of the card base and heat embossed it using silver embossing powder. I also added the same embossing to the little bow that I would later embellish the top of the oval frame with.

Next, I added a little pile of the FROST GLITTER and the ICY SPARKLE CRYSTALS directly over the sentiment and then popped on the front shaker panel that I had added FOAM tape too. To finish this card I then glued on the thin dotted frame and glued some more crystals to the card front.

This next card was done the exact same way as the previous card only this time I simplified it even more by not creating a shaker. Also, for this card, I used the FLORAL SNOWFLAKE STENCIL and applied Silver Gem Paste.

Again here I used the frame from the LOOPS: CREATIVE DIE to cut out the panel as well as the same sentiment from the GIFT TAG GREETINGS: WINTER this time stamped onto black cardstock and embossed in white.

To finish up the card I popped foam onto the back of the panel and glued it and the frame to the card base and then embellished the front with SILVER FOIL PEARLS.

I hope these Clean and Simple Christmas Snowflake Stencil Cards inspire you today.

Thank you for stopping by and until next time hope you have a wonderful week… Happy Crafting Everyone 👋

Ilda

A CAS Christmas Card with Isha Gupta

December 6, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, New Release, Winter Holidays

Hello everyone! Isha here sharing a CAS card using masking and stencil technique.

I started by taking a kraft cardbase and masked it to have an opening to stencil. I then took the beautiful Autumn Leaves stencil and applied white pigment ink to the card. Let it dry for about 15 minutes. I then offset the stencil a bit and sponged some peacock feathers distress oxide ink. I then applied some white pigment ink using blender brush. Remove the mask and apply white ink all around the card edges. Stamp and emboss the poinsettia flower onto vellum. Color lightly using pencil colors for a soft look. Flick some gold ink to the card.

Adhere the flower. I then die-cut the word “MERRY” and embossed it using WOW! Metallic Gold Rich powder 3 times. This give it a raised 3D effect. Adhere the word and the sentiment to the card. Thank you for dropping by! Have a nice crafty day!

Simple snowman card with Kaja

December 5, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Winter Holidays

Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and I have another cute winter card prepared for you! Take a look:

Holidays are almost here, so I am making as many simple Christmas cards as I can. Today I started out by stamping the snowman from Happy snowmen stamp set. I colored it in using alcohol markers and then I added some details using white gel pen along with green pencil for the scarf.

Next, I made the backround for which I used three colors of distress oxides. Black, dark blue and light blue. Once I was done ink blending I sprinkled some white paint on top to get a cool snowy look.

Then, I stamped the sentiment that reads ‘Happy holidays’ from Gift tag greetings: Winter set on a piece of gray card stock. I trimmed it down to a banner shape using my paper trimmer.

I die cut an oval window from a white card stock using the brand new Elegant scalloped oval die.

Once everything was prepared, I glued everything together using Studio Katia glue and double sided foam tape.

Thank you for joining me!

Kaja
