I have a fun Birthday Slimeline shaker card to share with you all today. I love making slimline cards and since this is a birthday card, I thought making it interactive would be fun for the recipient.
CARD DETAILS
To begin I stamped the cute little MINI BIRTHDAY CAKE and die cut it using the coordinating MINI BIRTHDAY CAKE DIE. I then colored the image in using Copic Markers.
The next step was to die cut all the pieces for the shaker card. I first die cut the larger frame from the DOTTED SLIMLINE – SET 2. I then die cut the center of the panel using the oval dotted frame from the DOTTED SLIMLINE – SET 1. Behind the slimline panel, I glued a piece of acetate cut large enough to cover the window. To line the perimeter of the oval opening I used FOAM TAPE that I cut to about half of the width.
On the slimline card base, I glued a piece of rainbow pattern paper from the BLACK, WHITE AND RAINBOW PAPER pack. Since the slimline is longer than the papers, I just extended the pattern by adding another piece of the same pattern that I cut to fit the card base. I then added the VANILLA LUSTER FUSION sequins to the center of the pattern paper and carefully lined up the front panel to create the shaker.
Next, I die cut the Birthday letters using the CHUNKY ALPHABET dies and added small pieces of BLACK FOAM to the back of each letter to add a bit of dimension and then attached them to the card front.
In place of the “A”, I just added the cute little birthday cake that I had previously colored. I also added the “happy” sentiment that comes from the HAPPY CELEBRATIONS set that I heat embossed in white on black cardstock and then fussy cut.
To finish off this fun and festive slimline birthday card, I glued on a few rainbow-colored pearls. See links below for the ones I used.
