Hello dear friends, Ilda here!
For today’s card, I created a little magical Winter Wonderland Village Shaker Card.
Has Winter hit your part of the world yet? The weather here in this part of Western Canada has been so bizarre, one day there is snow everywhere and the next day it is almost all gone and this has been going on since September!
To make this card I first began by stamping and then coloring some of the images from the Holiday Village stamp set using Copic Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut the pieces.
I then used the Loops Creative Die to cut out the background from some Bristol paper and then framed the edge of the die cut piece by using the frame from the Dotted Pattern Set 3 Creative Die. To this piece, I then glued the acetate to create the windows for the shaker.
I then glued the die cut circles from the loops die, onto another piece of cardstock to create the sky background of the shaker area, using the loops die as a guide. Next, I blended out the blue colored Oxide inks onto the circles beginning and working my way from the bottom with Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch. I then sprayed the panel with water to create the splattered effect.
Now that the pieces were all colored, all I did next was build the shaker card by adding thin strips of foam tape along the frame and adding little pieces of foam to the middle for extra support. Before sealing the top panel of the shaker to the background I added my sequin mix that consisted of Majestic Fusion and Silver Polka Fusion Sequins.
Now that the guts of the shaker is complete, I worked on building the scene. So the next thing I did was cut out my hill using the Simple Borders Creative Dies. I added the dotted edge to the hill by using the frame from the Dotted Pattern Set 3 Creative Die again. Before popping the hill onto the card front I stamped out the Greetings of the Season sentiment from the Holiday Village set, and then added all the little stamped images that I had done earlier and glued them to the card front. I also die cut another circle to create the sun using the Loops die and inked up with yellow Oxide inks.
As finishing details I added some Iridescent Ice Flakes to the card front, Icicle Stickles to make some snow piles, glossy accents to the windows and lights and Wink of Stella to the snowman and trees. This card sparkles and shines so much in person… there is never enough glitter!
Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope this Winter Village Shaker Card inspired you!
Until next time… stay warm 🙂
