Night Scene with Laura

February 7, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Other

Hi everyone! It’s Laura here, and today I am back with a cute card and a video with the Kobi the Super Bear stamp set.
To start off the card I stamped the image in the Kobi the Bear set with black ink on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock and did some coloring with Spectrum Noir markers.
I then die cut it with the coordinating dies.

I then moved on to the background. I die cut some blue cardstock with the Dotted Patterns Set 3 dies and created some shading by blending Distress Oxides in Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. I created some stars by spritzing my Nuvo Mica Mists in Antique Gold over the panel, and then used Nuvo Mousse in Lemon Sorbet and the Light Ray stencil to create a focal point on my sky.

For the cityscape part of my scene, I used a trick that my friend Tracy shared some time ago here on the Studio Katia blog. I used the coordinating dies to the Whimsical Town stamp set to cut some black cardstock, and I arranged them at the bottom of my scene.

For my card base I die cut some black cardstock to an A2 size using the Darling Ribbon and Frames dies, and then I assembled the scene. You could create dimension using foam tape, but I decided to glue everything flat, so that the card is easy to mail.
The sentiment, also part of the Kobi the Super Bear stamp set, was embossed on the panel with white embossing powder.

And that’s my card for today! If you like it, and if you would like to have a closer look at how to create it, you can watch the video below. And don’t forget to subscribe to the Studio Katia YouTube channel for more inspiration!

Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Fantastic card Laura, he’s so super bright. Really love your colour work. The whimsical town in the black reminds me of Super Kobi flying over a chess set. Fantastic.
