Join me as I take you through the process of bringing an adorable mini balloon dog stamp into an enchanting card.
Gathering the Essentials:
Before diving into any project, it’s essential to gather the tools that will help translate your vision into reality. For this card I used:
- Mini Balloon Dog Clear Stamp Set
- Mini Balloon Dog Die Set
- Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
- COPIC Markers: V91, V93, V95, V99
- Posca White Paint Pen
- Dotted Pattern Die Set
- Peony Trimmings Stamp Set
- Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink
- Berry Sweet Sentiments Stamp Set
- Studio Katia Rose Gold Fusion Sequin Mix
Adorable Balloon Dog
I turned to the Mini Balloon Dog Clear Stamp Set and Mini Balloon Dog Die Set for my focal image on this card. And Memento Tuxedo Black Ink is my go to for crisp and precise stamping specially when I am Copic coloring the image. I stamped and colored the image and then die cut the cute balloon dog using it’s coordinating die.

Adding Vibrant Color
Using COPIC markers (V91, V93, V95, and V99), I carefully colored the stamped image of the balloon dog. The combination of violet shades created a playful and eye-catching effect. To add dimension, I highlighted select areas with a Posca White Paint Pen, giving the dog a whimsical touch. I then set my balloon dog aside and moved on to the background.

Setting the Background
Selecting the right backdrop is crucial to make your main image shine. First I chose a patterned paper that matched the dog’s coloring, cutting it just a quarter inch smaller to leave a border on the card base. Additionally, I used the Dotted Pattern Die Set to create a scalloped shape from the same patterned paper. Intending to enhance the two pattern paper layers, I introduced another layer of white layer cut with the rectangle die from the same set creating a distinct separation that truly accentuates the layers.

For an elegant touch, I used the Peony Trimmings Stamp Set and stamped one of its borders onto the white layer. Using the soft Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink, I created a subtle and graceful design on one side of it.
Crafting Heartfelt Sentiments:
The sentiment is the soul of any card, so I picked the Berry Sweet Sentiments Stamp Set. I stamped the sentiments with black archival ink on a piece of white card-stock. With its coordinating die, I carefully cut out the phrase “You are the sweetest friend,” a message that would warm anyone’s heart.

Bringing it All Together
The assembly process was an exciting phase that brought all the elements together. I attached the patterned paper to the card base using glue. With foam tape, I added the white panel, positioning the stamped border towards the left. On top of that goes the scallop pattern paper piece slightly towards the right side. Then the adorable balloon dog sits in the center with foam tape along with the sentiment die cut.
Final Touch
As a final step, I embellished the card with Rose Gold Sequin. These delicate sequins caught the light beautifully, adding a touch of enchantment to the overall design.
And just like that, my journey of creating a heartwarming mini balloon dog card came to a fulfilling end. Remember, every card you create is a reflection of your unique style and emotions, making the crafting journey truly special. So, gather your supplies, let your imagination run wild, and enjoy every moment of turning paper and ink into a work of art. Happy crafting!
Hugs,
