Hi there,
It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I have prepared a simple card for 30th birhtday that features back stamping technique.
Take a look:
I started creating this card by stamping the images of a starfish and a crab from Under the sea stamp set. I positioned them on the top and at the bottom of a piece of white cardstock in the following order: starfish – crab – starfish. At first I wanted to just color them with markers, but in the end I decided to go another way and ‘color’ them in using the back of the stamped images in so called back stamping technique. I used gray ink for the crabs and light blue for the starfish. I felt like I needed some more dimention, so I added some shadows using gray alcohol markers.
I knew I wanted to create a card with the numbers on it, so I die cut ‘3’ and ‘0’ from the Chunky numbers die set along with ‘T’ and ‘H’ from Chunky alphabet die set. I used blue cardstock that matches the ink for the numbers and gray for the letters.
Next, I stamped ‘Happy’ in the top left corner and ‘birthday’ in the bottom right corner of my white space in between the stamped images. Both words can be found in the brand new Happy celebrations stamp set. I used black ink that creates nice contrast among the images and the sentiment. I then added some water bubbles around the stamped images, just to get some more detail around them. These stamps can also be found in Under the sea stamp set.
I felt like I needed some more blue in the background, so I die cut the white panel out using the scalloped rectangle die from Scallop hearts cover and put some blue paper in the background.
In the end, I glued everything together using double sided foam tape and liquid glue.
That’s all for today, thank you so much for joining me!
