Hello friends! Rowena here today sharing a fun birthday shaker card. Hope you all are having a wonderful summer full of sunny and warm days. So lets get started!
I’ve been admiring all the beautiful alcohol backgrounds on instagram for sometime now. So, I finally succumb and bought some inks to try.
For my background I used a combination of blues, greens, and a bit of purple to create my watery background. It’s literally mixing the colors and adding the blender solution on your paper. And I can’t believe its that easy and you end up with amazing backgrounds. There are ton of youtube tutorials online.
To create the window of my shaker, I used Scallop Window – Creative Die. I just love the shape of this die and it’s perfect for creating shaker cards. Then I added a singe layer of foam tape to my window. For my shaker elements I used the following: Sparkling Sea confetti, Majestic confetti, Sparkling crystal, and Mint Dream crystal.
I colored the cute birthday turtle from Shell-ebration stamp set and the corals, fish, and seaweed from the Under the Sea stamp set. I colored my images with my colored pencil and used the coordinating dies( I actually colored this during the coloring challenge that was hosted by Kathy Racoosin back in June). I added glossy accent to the coral, seaweed, and the turtle shell for added dimension.
To finish my card I used one of the sentiment from the Birthday Greetings stamp set (I absolutely love this set), stamped it using onyx black ink.
That’s it for me today! Till next time 🙂 Happy crafting!!
Hugs,
Rowena
