Hello crafty friends, greetings from Monica!
For this project I went back to my very roots of when I first started watercolouring on stamped and embossed images (often flowers) and I loved the result.
I used the beautiful “Botanical Hi” from Studio Katia’s newest release, stamped it on a piece of 140 lbs watercolour paper and added gold tinsel embossing powder and heat set it. I had forgotten how gorgeous tinsel powder was, it is so sparkly and it gives so much life to this design.
For the actual colouring, I used my Tombow marker because they are very friendly to use around the edges of the embossed lines and they blend easily with the water brush. I decided to keep the colour palette very simple, aqua greens for the leaves and a soft pink for the flowers.
I chose a neutral peach colour for the sentiment “Hi” and added some shimmer on top.
I also stamped and heat embossed another sentiment from the same set on a teal cardstock, cut a thin strip and placed it under the “Hi”.
I trimmed the panel and added some colour to the edges with the same watercolour markers and blended with the water brush towards the inside of the panel. I mounted the panel over another base layer of gold cardstock using Studio Katia’s foam tape. To finalize this project, I added a few champagne and gold foil pearls.
I hope you enjoy this card and that it makes you curious about this new release. It is so pretty!
Thanks for visiting. See you next time!
