Hi there, it’s Tracey here today this past week for an exciting week in both Canada and the U.S. celebrating Canada Day and Independence Day. As we enter the 5th month of the pandemic it may have been a more subdued celebration than normal. So if you can’t enjoy fireworks you can make a card and today I have a cute slimline cactus card.
I stamped out 5 cactus images from the Studio Katia Cactus Hugs stamp set and coloured the images with Copic markers adding shading on all the images. I added adding a bit more interest to the cacti with a white gel pen. Using my Copic blender I created some spots to the succulent on the far right. Once done I die cut the images with the Studio Katia Cactus Hugs Creative Dies.
I have five Cacti on the font of my card so I wanted my heading to reflect multiple cactus. I cut the letters to spell Cacti using the Studio Katia Chunky Alpha Creative Dies in black.
I die cut a panel of Neenah Solar white cardstock using the large rounded rectangle from the new Studio Katia Dotted Slimline Set 1. To ground my images I lightly blended Tea Dye and Crushed Olive Distress Inks to the bottom of the panel with my Studio Katia Blending Brushes. Then I flicked a bit of watered down Ground Expresso Distress Ink on to the panel.
Using white glue I adhered the word Cacti on to the panel slightly to the left. I stamped the word Hugs just below the word Cacti on the right side . I added the five images with Studio Katia Double Sided Foam Tape on to the panel. The whole panel was added to a bright green 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ folded card base. I finished it off by adding a few of the new Studio Katia Moss Green Pearls using Studio Katia Glue and the Studio Katia Embellishment Wand. I have been obsessed with these new shiny pearls in three different sizes. The tiny ones are my favourite!
