Autumn Blessings

October 19, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards

Hey lovelies, Tracy here with you today. I hope you are all well ?

Autumn is my favourite time of year, I love that you can start to get your cosy clothes on, the colours of nature and just how beautiful everything looks, so I just had to create a autumn themed card.

I used the Autumn Borders Stamp set (which is currently on sale) and Half Striped Cover Die to create this card and tried to show a fun way to use your border stamps and cover dies.

I started off by cutting the die using Neenah Card and then making sure to keep the larger insert piece I stamped along one edge using the stamp set and coloured it in using alcohol markers. I also did something I haven’t done for a long time and added lots go shading around the image and added some gel pen detailing. I also kept one of the larger strip pieces and used that to stamp my sentiment.

I had these piece of patterned paper which I thought matched the theme well without taking away from the stamped piece and I adhered that to t6he front of an A2 card. I then carefully adhered all the other pieces onto the card.

I decided it still needed a little something near the greeting so I took some of the Gold Crystals and added them to the greeting strip to finish the whole card off.

I haven’t crafted for a little while as we have been moving but I am glad my first card was an Autumnal themed one.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have an amazing day.

Happy Crafting.

Happy Boo-day by Tracey

October 9, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards, Halloween, Shaker Cards

Hey there crafty peeps! I have a couple of friends who have a birthday right around Halloween, so it’s always fun to make a Halloween inspired birthday card for them each year.

I have a slimline card today that could be a birthday card or it could be a just a Halloween card. I cut two panels of Bristol Smooth cardstock using the large rectangle from the Dotted Slimline Set 1 dies. Using the Birthday Balloons Duo Stencil I ink blended balloons of different sizes on the panel using the Studio Katia Blending Brushes. I used Wilted Violet, Mowed Lawn, Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks. The panel was adhered to a 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ card base in landscape format.

Using the second panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock I ink blended with Twisted Citron, Moved Lawn and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. I cut the panel using the large oval from the Dotted Slimline Set 1 dies. Then I backed the opening with acetate to make a shaker window. Using Studio Katia Black Double Sided Foam Tape I made a double thickness well around the shaker window. Then I added some Studio Katia Spooky Satin Confetti onto the centre of the balloons on the card base. I spread them out a bit with my fingers so they weren’t stacked up too much. I removed the tape baking from the top panel and secured it over the card base securing the shaker.

The ‘happy’ sentiment from the Happy Celebrations stamp set was white embossed onto a strip of black cardstock cut from the Halftone Lines Cover die, this die is a staple in my craft room. I love that it cuts so many line widths all with a perfect rounded edge. I adhered it on an angle above the oval.

I cut my punny sentiment from the Studio Katia Chunky Alphabet dies with purple sparkly cardstock and I adhered it to the centre of the clear window with Studio Katia Glue. A little trick I use to when I have a sentiment made up of individual letters to keep them spaced out evenly, I lay them on to my work surface and I picked them all up using a strip of purple tape. Then I can flip it over, add liquid glue to the backs of the letters and then put it on to my project exactly where I want it to do. I leave it until the glue dries and then remove the purple tape. Works like a charm.

Hope you enjoyed making a card with me today. A Halloween inspired card made with just a birthday balloon stencil, alphabet dies and a bit of ink. Thanks for dropping in and have a great day!

Fall Card with Laura

October 8, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards, Other

Hi everyone! It’s Laura here and today I am back to show you how to create a beautiful fall themed card! There is a video tutorial at the end of this post, so stay tuned for that, too!

The card features a DIY plaid background that I created with the Grid Stencil and Distress Oxides. I loved coming up with this fun way to stretch the use of an already great stencil – and I love that it can be customized in so many ways!

For the heart I used the Fancy Scalloped Heart dies and I did some more ink blending with Distress Oxides. I chose some blues to create a nice contrast with the warm tones of the plaid background.

The focal point of the card is a die cut pumpkin that I colored with Illustrator alcohol markers. I die cut some Neenah Solar White cardstock with the Pumpkin Shaker Die and then went ahead and colored it. Here is the list of markers I used

Orange: BO4, BO3, BO2, BO1
Green: YG3, YG2, YG1

For my sentiment I used the Trimmings Sayings One stamp set and the Simple Trimmings Dies. I did some heat embossing with gold embossing powder and I finished off the card with some Gold Foil Confetti.

Don’t forget to check out the video below to see how you can create this elegant fall card with a DIY plaid background !

As always thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Thanksgiving Inspiration Cards

Happy Wednesday Friends, Ilda here!

I am back today with a few Thanksgiving Inspiration Cards. Even though 2020 has been such a terrible year for all of us around the world, there is still so much to be thankful for.

CARD DETAILS

I began these cards by stamping out the images from the AUTUMN BORDERS stamp set (which by the way is currently on sale if you are interested). I used VersaFine Onyx Ink and then heat set it with a clear embossing powder so that I could do some really easy water coloring using Karin Brushmarkers.

Thanksgiving, Studio Katia, Autumn Borders, Mini Arcs Stencil, Pearls,Karin Brush Marker Pro,Card Making, Stamping, Die Cutting, handmade card, ilovedoingallthingscrafty, Stamps, how to, card

Once the images were dry I die cut them out using the coordinating AUTUMN BORDERS DIES. Under each die-cut, I left enough room to add a sentiment from the AUTUMN BORDERS set and then trimmed excess paper underneath.

I then popped up the strips using foam tape and attached them to these beautiful backgrounds and finished them off by adding some pearls. On this card, I used the AMETHYST PEARLS.

To create these beautiful backgrounds, I used the MINI ARCS STENCIL, and I created my own gold paste (because I didn’t have any) by mixing Platinum Embellishment Mousse with a little bit of Solar Flare Shimmer Powder.

Doesn’t the pattern remind you of acorn tops? Such a pretty design and I just love the texture this paste created.

To finish off this card I added WINE BERRY PEARLS.  Love how these cards turned out!

Halloween Shaker Card with Dana

September 28, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards, Halloween, Shaker Cards

Happy Monday, Studio Katia friends!

It’s Dana here and I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today, I’m sharing a Halloween shaker card and let’s get started!

To begin, I die cut three circles from white card stock for card base and stamping and one circle from black card stock for window. I die cut one more from Acetate Sheets as well. For this step, I used big circle die from Halftone Dots Circle Dies.

I then die cut black one again with Fancy Circle and adhered them on acetate circle one using Glue.

Next, I stamped Spooky Pumpkins Trimmings in black and colored images in with Alcohol markers. I cut this trimmings using scissors and glued it on right back of acetate panel.

For background, I ink blended it using Distress Oxide Inks and stamped small spider webs from Meowy Halloween.

I mixed Storm Cloud Pearls, Mallow Crystals and Royal Purple Crystals and built a shaker using Double Sided Foam Tape (Black). Then, I mounted a shaker onto card base I made in previous step.

To finish, I stamped a sentiment from Meowy Halloween in silver and trimmed it using craft knife.

That’s it for today! Thank you so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

Dana

Hey BOO! | Halloween Light Up Interactive Card

September 15, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards, Halloween, Hello Cards, Other

Halloween, Light Up, EZ-Light Pack, Interactive Card, miss you, pumpkin,Studio Katia,Chunky Alphabet, Card Making, Stamping, Die Cutting, handmade card, ilovedoingallthingscrafty, Stamps, how to, card

Well Hey, Boo!

Ilda, here. Today I have a special little card for you! Not only is this little pumpkin adorable, it is also interactive and lights up for the recipient. How fun is that?! I am so addicted to these new to me EZ-lights that I’m sure you will be seeing a lot more of these light-up cards in the future!

CARD DETAILS

Here is how I made this card:

  • Die-cut 2 HALF STRIPED COVER frames, one orange, and one purple.
  • Rotate one Striped Cover over the other 90 degrees and glue together onto a white card panel.
  • Die-cut the top, bottom, and frame pieces for the pumpkin using the SHAKER PUMPKIN DIES
  • Glue the bottom of the pumpkin onto the center of the card panel.
  • Punch a hole through both the card panel and the pumpkin base (somewhere where it won’t be seen from the face openings.
  • Add vellum behind the pumpkin face and add foam tape to the outer edges of the pumpkin’s face.
Halloween, Light Up, EZ-Light Pack, Interactive Card, miss you, pumpkin,Studio Katia,Chunky Alphabet, Card Making, Stamping, Die Cutting, handmade card, ilovedoingallthingscrafty, Stamps, how to,
  • Thread the EZ-Light wire from behind the panel through the hole you punched through the panel.
  • Tape down each EZ-Light so that the light is able to shine through the vellum areas of the pumpkin’s face. ( I taped them behind the top orange pumpkin layer)
  • Line up the pumpkin’s face with the back layer and adhere them together with the foam tape.
  • Glue down the pumpkin’s frame around the pumpkin.
  • Insert the battery and tape down the EZ-Light push button behind the area you want the recipient to push down on. Test the push area.
  • Tape the excess wires to the pack of the card panel, leaving room along with the edges to add foam around the border.
Halloween, Light Up, EZ-Light Pack, Interactive Card, miss you, pumpkin,Studio Katia,Chunky Alphabet, Card Making, Stamping, Die Cutting, handmade card, ilovedoingallthingscrafty, Stamps, how to,
  • Attach to the card base.
  • Die-cut the letters from glitter craft foam using the CHUNKY ALPHABET and arrange and press onto the card front.
  • Instead of writing push or press on the area, I used the Miss You stamp from the SWEET HEART CANDY.
  • To finish, embellish with your favorite bling. (I used RIPE PERSIMMON PEARLS and AMETHYST PEARLS).

Now let’s see how cool it looks when you light it up!

Happy Fall with Natalia

September 11, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards

Hi there! It’s Natalia here. Today I want to share with you my card featuring beautiful Studio Katia CHUNKY ALPHABET Creative Dies.

To make this card I started by stamping the cute image from the AUTUMN BORDERS stamp set, which I colored with copic markers and cut out using scissors. I made highlights with white and silver gel pen.

I die cut out a panel out of white cardstock using HALFTONE DOTS COVER | CREATIVE DIES. I ink blended some distress inks onto a white panel same size as the dot panel and added some splashes with clean water. I glued these panels together.

I adhered the image onto the background panel mounting it on a double-sided foam tape. I die cut out the words Happy Fall out of gold glittered cardstock using a die from CHUNKY ALPHABET Creative Dies and adhered it in the middle of the card again using the double-sided foam tape.

Thank you so much for joining me today, have a great day!

Autumn Cuteness with Galina

October 15, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards, Shaker Cards, Thank You Cards

Hello everyone! It’s Galina with you today. When I first saw SHAKER ACORN DIES I was dying because of their cuteness. And I love to have an option to put faces on them 🙂

For this card I used few die sets from autumn release. I cut out few acorn details from white cardstock and colored them with brown, orange and green inks. To apply inks on the die cuts I used blending brushes. I decided to make shaker acorns, so I cut out a piece if vellum and attached it on the back of the accorn die cut, next I attached adhesive foam strips.

I filled the shaker with golden seed beads and covered the shaker with one more piece of paper. I added a smile and eyes to both acorns. Also I added a leaf by using a die from pumpkin set and few flowers from embellishment set called RADIANT PINEAPPLE PETALS and MISTY ROSE FLOWERS.

To create a card background I cut out a white panel and applied pink and yellow distress ink using blending brushes. With regular paint brush I added splatters all over the card panel.

I cut out a white frame from vellum and glued it on the card panel. Next I adhered both acorns. Using sentiment from AUTUMN BORDERS DIES set I cut out a word “Thanks” from gold cardstock and attached it to the bottom of my card.

To finish my card I added few transparent crystals with liquid glue from Studio Katia.

That’s all. Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day.

3-D Die Cut Autumn/Thanksgiving Cards with Ilda

October 14, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards, Thank You Cards

Hello, Ilda here, and Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian Friends!

It is only fitting that I share with you some Thanksgiving Cards today featuring a bunch of products from Studio Katia‘s last release.

As you can see the focal point of these cards is done in 3D. So let me break down how each card came together.

For the acorn version of the card, I began by die cutting the pieces of the SHAKER ACORN die 4 times. I then scored and folded each piece down the middle and applied a thin bead a glue down the crease and glued each layer in place.

Next, I glued the bottom acorn flat to the card panel that I had die cut using the large frame from the DARLING RIBBON AND FRAMES DIES set. I then die cut the outline of the acorn from black cardstock and glued it around the 3D acorn.

The sentiment on this cute card comes from the AUTUMN BORDERS stamp set. I then finished it off by adding some EXOTIC ONYX PEARLS and adding an orange bow to the stem.

For this next card, I repeated the same process as the previous card only this time I used the SHAKER APPLE DIE set.

Here again, I used the AUTUMN BORDERS stamp set for the greeting only this time I embellished with ARCTIC BREEZE PEARLS.

For this last card, I used the SHAKER PUMPKIN DIE set to make the 3D pumpkin. I then glued it on to a background panel that I had die cut using the HALFTONE DOTS CIRCLE DIES and the large frame from the DOTTED PATTERNS SET 3.

I then glued the panel to a Kraft card base, stamped out the sentiment from the AUTUMN BORDERS stamp set and finished it off by adding some RIPE PERSIMMON PEARLS.

And as you can see from this next photo, all the cards all fold flat for sending them through the mail.

I hope these 3-D Die Cut Autumn/Thanksgiving Cards inspired you today. They are actually quite simple to make and the results look amazing.  I’d encourage you to give these a try!

Thank you for stopping by and until next time… Happy Crafting!

Hugs, Ilda

Happy Thanksgiving by Dana

October 11, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards, Shaker Cards

Happy Friday, everyone!

It’s Dana here and I’m back with Thanksgiving card today.

I started by die cutting acorn using Shaker Acorn Dies from A2 sized bristol cardstock. I then sponged die cuts with distress inks using mini blending tool.

I die cut acorn body again from kraft paper for shaker background. I added Clear Sheets and completed shaker with Ice Sparkle Crystals and 3M Crystal Clear.

Next, I ink blended background with Distress Oxide Inks. Then, I splattered watercolor drops using paint brush here and there.

Once they dried, I stamped sentiment from Autumn Borders in brown. To finish off, I embellished with Ripe Persimmon Pearls and Seafoam Pearls and mounted all elements onto dark brown card stock.

Hope you enjoyed this card. Happy crafting!

Dana
