Summer card with Natalia

July 13, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Theme Week

Hello, everyone. Natalia is here. Today I continue to play with wonderful Whimsical Town set. The card I’ve made turned out very summery.

I stamped Whimsical Town set on the paper for alcohol markers and colored it with Copic and Touch Twin markers.

Cut everything out on Big Shot using coordinating dies. Inked the panel of white cardstock using Distress inks. Cut out another panel of white cardstock using Halftone Dots Cover. Stuck the panel with dots above inked panel.

Cut out the frame of light grey cardstock and put it in the middle on foam tape. Placed houses inside the frame on foam tape.

Heat embossed tge sentiment on dark grey cardstock and put it above the frame. And that’s it, my card has finished and pleased the eyes.

Hope you like this  fun card! Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Under the Sea with Dana

July 9, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Theme Week

Happy Monday, everyone!
It’s Dana here and I’m coming back with sea themed card to share with you today. Here is what I came up with.

To begin, I stamped mermaids from Mermaid For Each Other Stamp Set and other images from Under the Sea Stamp Set onto white card stock. I colored them with alcohol markers and die cut them using coordinating die sets. To some of them, I applied glitter pen and Nuvo Crystal Drops Ebony Black as shown.

Next, I die cut background panel from white card stock using Halftone Dots Cover and mounted it onto A2 sized card base with patterned paper from my stash. For sentiment from Mermaid For Each Other Stamp Set, I white heat embossed it on a piece of black card stock and cut it with paper trimmer.

To finish, I adhered every pieces where I wanted them using glue tape and embellished with April Crystals.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Happy crafting!

Dana

Under the Sea with Laura

June 28, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Theme Week

Hi everyone! It’s Laura here, and for the Red, Blue and White Theme Week I am sharing a card I created using the Under the Sea stamp set.
For the background of this cute underwater scene I used the Brush Stroke Waves stencils and Distress Inks. I also cut the ocean panel with the rectangle die in the Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames set to create a dotted edge on the short sides.

All the images in this card come from the Under the Sea stamp set, were colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. In order to stick with this week’s theme I used only shades of red to color in my critters, and I created a color chart for your reference.

For the card base I combined the Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames set with the new Halftone Dots cover die to cut some white cardstock and create a subtle tone on tone effect with my white card base.
I popped up the ocean panel with some foam tape and composed the scene.

The sentiment is heat embossed with white embossing powder, and, as a final detail, I added some Clear Drops near these adorable critters.
And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked this card and I hope I inspired you to create with the cute Under the Sea stamp set.
Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

Red/White Card by Rowena

June 27, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Cards, Theme Week

Hello crafty friends! It’s theme week and here’s my take on this week theme. With so many adorable stamps from the recent May release, I finally got to play with this adorable Kobi Bearing Gifts stamps! So, lets get started.

LogoLicious_20180602_142828

I first created my background by blending Picked Raspberry distress ink on a water color paper.  Focusing mostly darker around the outside and lighter towards the middle of my panel. I splattered clean water as well as some inks to create more interest to my background.

LogoLicious_20180602_130227

I used the Dotted Patterns – Set 2 creative die to create my window panel. I also added a plain white cardstock and trimmed it using Halfttone Dots Cover plate to add more interest.  I added foam tape to my panel and adhered it to a A2 size card base.

I then stamped my image twice, on one image I colored only the presents and Kobi’s hand. On the other stamped image, I colored the bottom half of Kobi.  I then fussy cut the presents and added foam tape to add dimension. I then die cut the other image using its coordinating die. You can see on my photo how I put everything together.

To finish my card I white heat embossed my sentiment on a black cardstock from the Birthday Greetings stamp set. I just love all the different and unique saying on this set!!!

Thanks for stopping by and till next time! Happy crafting everyone!!

Crafty Hugs,

Rowena

Messy Red Roses with Erum

June 25, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Cards, CAS, Floral Cards, Theme Week

Studio Katia Spring Bouquet | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

Hello!

Erum here today with very messy Red and White card with a bit of black using Spring Bouquet Stamp Set.

Studio Katia Spring Bouquet | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I started by stamping the floral bouquet with Versafine Ink in Onyx Black onto watercolour cardstock. Next I clear embossed it so that I could do some quick watercolouring without worrying about details or paint bleeds. After the watercolour was dry, I used the coordinating die to cut out the bouquet.

I used distress inks to colour my image and I was super random at adding colour. For the background, I did a light colour wash of grey and added a lot of splatters of grey and black.

I stamped the greeting from Birthday Greetings Stamp Set and then popped my image with foam tape.

In the end I used Silver Foil Fusion for bling.

Messy watercolouring allows you to complete a card super fast and the technique is also super fun. I hope you liked my card. See you soon.

Bye 🙂

Glittery Starry Sky with Olga

April 28, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Hello Cards, New Release, Theme Week

Hello Studio Katia friends! Today I am sharing a card I made using Studio Katia Sparkling Stars Confetti Glitter. Don’t you love those tiny iridescent stars glitter? I am in complete awe with it! It can embellish anything with these stars!

I was inspired to make a starry sky background for the images from Whimsical Town Stamp Set. And I absolutely love the result I got. You can see every single star in the background which makes this town scene just magical.

I started working on my card by stamping three houses, a tree, a bush, a trash can, a mailbox and three clouds onto white paper. I colored all these images with alcohol markers and die cut them with Coordinating Dies.

To create glitery background for my card I wanted to do something special, something magical. First I ink blended a panel with pink and purple shades and die cut an oval out of it using Dotted Ovals Creative Dies. I wanted to make it look like a window, so I cut off a bit at the bottom.

Now time to do some magic! I covered oval panel with water-based glue and sprinkled it with star glitter. I let it dry and cleaned off the excess. So simple to make, but what an impressive look it created!

Next I foam mounted all of the images to create a town scene.

Do you like this card? Let me know what you think.

Have a great day!

Olga

There is no Place Like Home with Natalia

April 23, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Theme Week

Hello, everyone. Natalia is here. And today I want to show you a card I made using Whimsical Town set. Without exaggeration, this card is one of my favorites. Also, I just love this stamp set!

First of all, I stamped and colored all images from the set on a paper recommended for alcohol markers. Next I die cut it using coordinating dies. I inked a background panel with Distress inks. Next I cut a panel out of white catdstock and die cut windows using Dotted Patterns: Loops die. I adhered two panels together with adhesive tape.

I die cut a “ground” for my houses out of grey cardstock using Dotted Patterns: Simple Borders die and heat embossed a sentiment on it with white powder.

I mounted my hill on some foam tape and started adhering houses, trees and otger images.

My cute card is ready.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Guest Designer | Floral Trimmings with Laurie

March 24, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Floral Cards, Guest Designer, Theme Week

Hi everyone!! Laurie here and I’m super excited to be a guest on SK blog today!! The theme is feminine or Mother’s Day cards. This was the perfect theme for me as I needed a card for my sister! My sister is truly my best friend and has helped me out tremendously lately so I wanted to make a card to thank her for everything.

The perfect set for this card is the Best Ever stamp set and matching dies. This set will let almost anyone know that they are “The Best Ever”. To give it a feminine flare, I used the Floral Trimmings which is absolutely gorgeous.

I started by embossing the florals with some Silver Pearl Embossing powder onto some Mixed Media paper. I choose several colours of Distress Inks to colour the flowers.

I stamped twice but only ended up using one. Here’s how the colouring turned out…

I fussy cut around the entire image because at this point I wasn’t 100% sure of what I wanted to do 🙂

I cut down some white cardstock with the largest die from the Dotted Patterns Set 1 Die Set for a mat on my blue card base. I used the same die to cut around the floral image. This gave me one larger floral piece along with a skinny piece.

For the sentiment, I die cut the “best” and “ever” scripty dies out of white cardstock and layered them onto the same colour of cardstock of the card base. I adhered the larger floral piece onto the bottom of the white panel and the skinny piece to the top with foam adhesive.

I also foam mounted the word dies and stamped “sister” directly onto the white panel. I finished the card of with a generous helping of the Sparkling Crystals Mix.

I already gave this card to my sis and she loved it!!

Thank you so much to Studio Katia for having me as a guest today and thank you for stopping by!!

Stay crafty, my friends!!

Laurie

Theme Week | Feminine/ Mother’s Day Cards – Day 5 with Erum + Video

March 23, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Floral Cards, Theme Week

Studio Katiia Japanese Peony pecil shaded + Mandala Stencil background | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

Hello friends!

Erum here today with a floral card. I also have a how-to video to share with you. You will find it at the end of this post.

Studio Katiia Japanese Peony pecil shaded + Mandala Stencil background | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

This was an unplanned card. I actually have another card that I wanted to share but that will have to wait. I started by stamping the flower from Japanese Peony Stamp Set on watercolor paper and pencil shaded it with Prismacolor. I then die cut all the stamped images with the help of coordinating dies.

Studio Katiia Japanese Peony pecil shaded + Mandala Stencil background | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

My card front is actually a leftover piece from my Mandala Stencil card that I shared HERE. I used gesso to create my original card, I then used the stencil as a stamp and stamped the leftover gesso onto a spare piece of cardstock and left it to air dry.

Studio Katiia Japanese Peony pecil shaded + Mandala Stencil background | Erum Tasneem | @pr0digy0

I used Chipped Sapphire distress stain as watercolor onto my background. Once it was dry, I added black paint splatters.

After adhering my flower and leaves, I popped my sentiment “you’re the best” with foam tape covering the floral image partially.

In the very end, I added Shimmering Ice Fusion and Iridescent Bubbles to the card front.

Theme Week | Feminine/ Mother’s Day Cards – Day 4 with Laura

March 22, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Floral Cards, Theme Week

Hi everyone! It’s Laura here, and for day 4 of our Theme Week I am sharing an encouragement card featuring the beautiful Japanese Peony Clear Stamp Set.
To start off this card I stamped my images on some watercolor cardstock and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then used my Distress Oxides to do some watercoloring:  I used Aged Mahogany and Tattered Rose for the petals, Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber for the inside of the flower, and Bundled Sage and Forest Moss for the leaves. Once I was done painting I die cut everything with the Japanese Peony Coordinating Dies.

I then created a window for my card base. For the window background I did some ink smooshing with Distress Oxides in Tattered Rose and Squeezed Lemonade on some watercolor cardstock.
For the window frame I cut some vanilla cardstock using the Dotted Patterns: Darling Ribbon Creative Dies in combination with the Dotted Patterns: Set 2 Creative Dies. The Dotted Patterns: Set 2 | Creative Dies cut both the window opening and a thin frame that I inked up with some Distress Oxide in Aged Mahogany.

I raised the window front over the background with some foam tape and coated it with acetate. I then heat embossed the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock andcut it with the Label Messages Coordinating Dies.  As a final step I added a few Crystal Clear Confetti on my card base and inside the window.
And that’s it for today! I really hope you liked this card, and I hope I inspired you to create with the gorgeous Japanese Peony Clear Stamp Set. Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day,

Laura
