Valentine Hugs

January 25, 2021 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Happy Monday, crafty friends! Today, I’m sharing the Valentine’s Day card I made for my son. I combined the Cactus Hugs and Potted Plants stamp and die sets, with the Stitch Borders dies.

The four cacti and the sentiment are from the Cactus Hugs stamp set. The flowers at the top right and the little hearts are from the Potted Plants stamp set.

I love customizing all of the little pots with the various faces. Since I created a grid on this card design, it was easy to heat emboss and watercolour them using the same distress inks.

I used the largest of the Stitch Borders dies to create the top panel and smooshed the same two colours I used to colour the pots with shimmer spritz to make it ultra sparkly. Then I used the tool ‘n’ one to remove some of the holes and adhered it to coloured cardstock to bring out the blue in the pots.

I repeated the sentiment, leaving a space to pop up the tiny hearts from the Potted Plants stamp set. Then I added an assortment of Seafoam Pearls with liquid glue and an embellishment wand.

Valentine’s Day Rainbow Heart Cards

January 24, 2021 / CATEGORIES - Shaker Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Happy Friday Friends. I hope you have had a safe and wonderful week.
Today’s cards are once again rainbow inspired. As you all must know by now, I love rainbows and today’s Valentine Day cards reflect that. I must however apologize as I did not realize that the SCALLOP HEARTS COVER and the LOOPS: CREATIVE DIES are SOLD OUT! So if you already own them then hopefully this will inspire you today and if you don’t I’m sure you could achieve similar results with some creativity.
CARD DETAILS
To begin, I die cut the SCALLOP HEARTS COVER twice in order to make two cards and just set the extra pieces aside. I then removed the hearts and heart frames from the openings. Next, I used a variety of Atelier inks to blend out each heart. I then separated the hearts from the outer heart frames.
To each heart, I then painted on a little layer of  STUDIO KATIA GLUE and then dipped the heart into  CHUNKY SPARKLE GLITTER. I then glued the hearts from the other card I had cut out back into the heart spaces and then stacked the glittery colored hearts in rainbow order back onto the card front.

The sentiments come from the HAPPY CELEBRATIONS set that was stamped on black cardstock and heat embossed in white. I then stuck foam under the sentiment strip and added it to the card panel that I then glued onto the card base.

For this next card when I die cut the SCALLOP HEARTS COVER panel, I removed the scalloped frame for a different look. I then glued on the thin dotted frame from the LOOPS: CREATIVE DIES.

I had previously removed the hearts from this panel to use on my previous card. To the back of the panel, I then glued on a piece of acetate, added a foam border along the outer edge, and glued it onto the card base that was filled with some SPARKLING HEARTS CONF. GLITTER.

To finish off the card front, I then added the heart frames to each window in rainbow order. The sentiment stamp I used comes from the GIFT TAG GREETINGS: VALENTINES set that was also stamped on black and heat embossed in white. The piece was then trimmed and foam mounted on top of one of the hearts.

The last thing I did was add some pearls for an extra pop of color. I hope these Valentine’s Day Rainbow Heart Cards inspired you today. These both could be used for any occasion simply by changing out the greeting.
Thank you for stopping by and until next time… Happy Crafting!

Watercolor Valentine’s Day Card with Dana

January 21, 2021 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Floral Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Hello, everyone!
It’s Dana here and I’m back with my first card of 2021. Many of things are still not good, but I hope everything goes well in new year to all of you. Today, I have a lovely card for Valentine’s Day and let’s get started!

To begin, I die cut white card stock using SCALLOP HEARTS COVER. I die cut it again with Fancy Scallop Hearts Dies. I then took a CHUNKY ALPHABET set and die cut ‘LOVE’ and small tag from red card stock.

Next, I stamped KIND BOUQUET in black onto cold pressed watercolor paper. I watercolored bouquet using Distress Inks and let it dried. I then colored again with Copic markers for pop the images and I love how it turned out. As a last touch of coloring, I added white dots using white gel pen and Nuvo crystal drop.

I mounted watercolor panel onto A2 sized baby pink card stock and popped up scalloped one using foam tape. Then, I arranged alphabets using glue.
To finish, I white heat embossed a sentiment from GIFT TAG GREETINGS: VALENTINES.

Hope you enjoyed this card. Thank you so much for stopping by and happy crafting!

xoxo,

Dana

Sweet Valentines Day card

January 12, 2021 / CATEGORIES - Valentines Day Cards

Hello everyon! It’s Galaina. And let me show you something super cute 🙂 I made an adorable card using my favorite stamp set called Paws for kindness, and I love it because of sweet pet illustrations 🙂

How I made this card you can watch here or on Studio Katia’s Youtube channel.

On this card I combined two cover dies to create a dotted card background with a scallop frame. I used SCALLOP HONEYCOMB COVER and MINI POLKA DOTS COVER DIE. To create a heart frame I used two frame die cuts I made using SHAKER HEART die. I cut them out from a silver mirror cardstock and a white glitter cardstock.

I made a custom sentiment for this card. I cut out a word forever using a number die and dies from chunky alphabet.

Thanks for stopping by!

Video. Simple diecutting – love you card

June 2, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Hello, it’s Galina with you today. Everyone who love diecutting will love this cute and simple card. For this card I used my favorite dies – FANCY SCALLOP HEARTS set and MINI POLKA DOTS COVER DIE. In the video below I’ll share some tips and how I made this card.

Also, for this card I used adorable plant stamps and solid sentiment stamps. You can create such card for any occasion just pick the right sentiment from the LABEL MESSAGES stamp set.

I stamped two images on the white paper with Memento black ink. I colored my plants with a few Copic markers. I decided to keep this card in soft tones. So, for the heart background I picked light shade of orange and pink distress ink – Dried Marigold and Spun Sugar. I applied inks on the white cardstock with a Blender Brushes from studio Katia, the blender brush gives a softer ink appearance.

Using Mini polka dot die I cut out a white panel. To create a colorful dots under it, I cut out one more panel from a bright pink cardstock. If you want to create multicolored dots take different colors of cardstock, or apply inks on the card base before adhering the polka dot panel.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Valentine Card with Olga

February 10, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Hello friends! If  you are looking for a quick and beautiful Valentine’s Day card idea, my today’s card is just what you need. This card was fairly easy to make.

I started to work on this card by making background. I simply blended Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink through the MANDALA STENCIL onto the kraft cardstock.  Next, through the stencil I applied Nuvo glitter paste onto my panel.

I was aiming for white, red and gold color combo and so using kraft cardstock and Brown ink with Glimmer paste here worked perfectly.
To create a sentiment for this card, I heat embossed Be mine. XOXO with white embossing powder on the red cardstock using a sentiment from GIFT TAG GREETINGS – VALENTINES stamp set and die cut a heart shape using new FANCY SCALLOP HEARTS DIES.

I foam mounted the heart on the card using the brand new DOUBLE SIDED FOAM TAPE. To embellish my project I used new SCARLET RED CRYSTALS with the help of EMBELLISHMENT WAND. The card turned out so festive and quick!

I hope you like my idea and will give it a try! Have a nice day, Olga

Valentine’s Day inspiration by Dana

February 5, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Valentines Day Cards

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

It’s Dana here and I’d like to share Valentine’s Day card and tag today. I’m featuring some of new release products and let’s get started!

I began by die cutting A2 sized light brown paper using Darling Ribbon & Frames. Then, I die cut chocolate frame from dark brown card stock with Dotted Square Frame Die.

I mounted my chocolate frame onto base panel and popped up chocolates using Double Sided Foam Tape-Black.

I die cut sentiment from pink card stock three times and glued down each other for more dimension. I added glitters using glitter pen on the top.

I also die cut small heart using Scallop Frames twice and applied glossy accent as well. As a last touch, I adhered Blossom Sparkle Crystals as shown in the picture.

Next, I started create a simple tag. I die cut tag elements from red and white card stock using Simple Round Tag. I heat embossed a small heart from Gift Tag Greetings- Valentines onto tag window.

I ink blended white circle panel with dye ink and then stamped a sentiment from same stamp set.

I finished off this tag by adding ribbon and embellishing Sparkling Crystals using Glue.

That’s it for today! Thank you so much for joining me and happy crafting!

Hugs and Kisses! with Kelly | Welcome New DT Member!

January 20, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Valentines Day Cards

Hello Everyone! We have another exciting announcement today – very talented Kelly Martin has joined our fabulous Design Team! Help us celebrate the news and welcome Kelly to SK family in the comments below. It will also give you a chance to win a $15 Gift Certificate to Studio Katia Store.

———————————-

Welcome, friends!

I’m so happy to be here on the Studio Katia blog for my first post as part of the design team.

Today we’re going to be creating a clean card, using very minimal supplies!

Using the scallop hearts cover die, cut out two panels of the same color cardstock. Remove all the hearts in the middle of the die and set them aside to use on another project. Glue both of your panels together and then adhere them down to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base.

Using the same background die, cut out a panel from a different color cardstock and then take out all the heart pieces. Set aside your panel to use on a different project later on.

Using a liquid adhesive. glue the heart pieces in to the center of each of the background heart openings on the card base. I recommend a liquid adhesive because you can have a second or two to move the heart around just a little bit in case you lay it down crooked!

To finish off the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Floral Wreath stamp set on to white cardtock. trimmed it down and then glued it on to a piece of gold glitter cardstock.

I glued that down to the top of the card at an angle and then to finish off the card, I die cut a bow from the Darling Ribbon and Frames in the same gold glitter cardstock and glued it on to the corner of my sentiment strip.

I love these background dies because you get so much value out of one die. With just one piece of cardstock and one pass through the die cut machine, the die cuts so many different pieces that you can use for multiple cards!

Thanks for joining me here today and I hope you’ll come back and see me next time!

Plaid Background Valentine’s Day Card | Layering Die Technique with Ilda

January 15, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Valentines Day Cards

Hello crafty friends!

Today I have a super cute plaid card to share with you that I created by simply rotating and flippling one die. I love stretching my supplies to create something totally new!

To create the plaid. I used the HALF STRIPED COVER die to cut out 4 different shades of pink cardstock. I then layered each piece by either rotating or flipping the die-cut piece and glued them all together. To finish the background, I then glued the plaid layers onto a piece of red cardstock.

For the greeting, I used the stamps from KOBI’S HUGS and KISSES stamp set and to frame the sentiment I used the outer heart frames from the SHAKER HEART dies that I stacked and glued 3 times.

Here is a closer look at all the layers. To embellish the stamped hearts I added some liquid pixie dust for sparkle and then topped them off with glossy accents.

Super simple, and so pretty! The perfect card to give a friend or loved one for Valentine’s Day 💓 I hope you were inspired by this layering die technique.

Thank you for stopping by and until next time… Happy Crafting!

Underwater card by Galina

August 19, 2019 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Other, Valentines Day Cards

Hello everyone! It’s Galina with you today and I want to share with you summer nautical card. I used small stamp set with mermaids and shell die.

I start with cutting few card panels one from dark blue cardstock and one from white cardstock. On the white card panel I applied blue, dark blue and violet colors of distress inks and then I add splashes with water.

In same way, I create a background for a shell. but in the end I decided to add dark blue stripes through the wave stencil. So, I cut out two shells, one from colorful panel and one from white cardstock and mixed negative die cuts.

Next I stamped and colored mermaid couple with watercolor markers. I foam mount shell and stamped image in the centre of my card.

At last I embellish my card with transparent bubbles. To glue them I used strong liquid glue from Studio Katia.

Thank you for stopin by!
