Hello lovelies, Tracy here with you today.
I think most of with each new year think of ways we can change our crafting up. For me one of the things I wanted to do was change up what colours I use. Last year I noticed I rarely use my favourite colours in crafting.
One colour I love is Green, it comes in so many different shades, for me green means nature and balance and is actually the colour in craft room and is one of the colours I use throughout my home, but I rarely use it in crafting. So today I wanted to share a way of introducing/using colours into our projects that we wouldn’t normally use.
For my card today I have used the Peony Trimmings Stamp Set & Matching Dies.
I started off by stamping and heat embossing the stamp onto some watercolour card and then colouring using Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers.
Once this was fully dry I used thematching die and cut the piece out.
I then used the Autumn Leaves Stencil and usingĀ Green and Pink Harmony ink pads and my Blender brushes I stenciled through. Now with this I thought it was too bold, so to tone it down I took some vellum and laid it over the top, I then die cut both pieces using the Darling Ribbon die set.
I then took some green cardstock and trimmed to be slightly larger than the stenciled pieced and adhered it together. To add some more of the green to the card I diecut some using Peony Trimmings die and adhered the watercoloured piece to it, making sure to offset it creating a shadow. I then stamped one of the sentiments and using the banner dies from the Peony Trimmings Die set I die cut the stamped piece and also a green piece of card and again created a shadow with the green piece of card. I adhered this all together on the card finishing off with some crystals.
By using the green as an accent colour it’s worked really well and also added extra depth to the whole card. You can go subtle if you want to bring in a different colour and add coloured embellishments. Colour is so fun to play with and I look forward to bringing different colours into my crafty world.
I hope i’ve inspired you to use colours you wouldn’t normally use.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have an amazing day.
Happy Crafting.
