Hello everyone! It’s Laura here, and for day 3 of our Theme Week I wanted to show you some cute, vintage Christmas tags I made using the Sweet Holiday stamp set.
To begin with, I stamped my images on some Canson XL watercolor cardstock and did some no-line watercoloring with Distress Inks. I painted the images as I normally would, and, to give the images a vintage feel, I added a wash of Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. I then die cut them with the coordinating dies.
For the tag bases I used the Dotted Shaker Tag 2 Creative Dies to die cut some more watercolor cardstock, and created three different scenes for my images. I used Distress Inks and a stencil to create the sky and some snow banks. For the snow I used Tumbled Glass, and for the sky I used Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans and Broken China. I added some water splashes to the sky in order to convey the feeling of falling snow. As a final step I blended some Distress Ink in Vintage Photo over the whole card base to give it an aged look. I used a heavier hand towards the edges of the card, and added just a light coat on the center.
I then stamped three different sentiments from the Sweet Holiday stamp set using some white pigment ink. The white pigment ink gives a softer look compared to white embossing powder, which I thought matches very nicely the feel of these tags. I sponged some Vintage Photo over my bakers twine and I threaded it through the eyelet at the top of the tags.
And that’s it for today’s post! I really hope you like it, and I hope I inspired you to create your own Christmas gift tags using the adorable Sweet Holiday stamp set!
Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
