Hi there! Emily Midgett with you here today sharing some Christmas in July inspiration! I know. It’s approximately 19,173* outside, and summer is nowhere near over, but I had some of my holiday stuff out and thought “why not?” Never too early to get started on holiday cards! For today’s project, I focused on the Merry Poinsettia stamp set. I kept the color scheme simple, using bright pops of cherry red and black accents. Let’s get started with all of the details!

To start, I stamped all of the blooms from Merry Poinsettia, once on an A2 panel of cardstock in a swag in the bottom corner, and then the larger bloom, some foliage, and some berries on another panel of white card stock using Copic-friendly black ink. I then colored the images in with my Copic markers, using a bright, cheerful red combination for the flowers, with some muted sage green leaves and deep cherry red for the berries.

After I’d finished coloring the images, I fussy cut them with some detail scissors (though you could use the coordinating dies… I just didn’t have them!). I layered the die cuts approximately where I wanted them, then used that as a guide for my sentiment placement, also from Merry Poinsettia. After I’d stamped my greeting, I adhered the die cuts to the card front using foam adhesive.

Next, I added some Onyx Crystals to continue the elegant black, red, and white theme and add a bit of sparkle. I then used my T-square and black fineline pen to add a black frame around the edge of the white card front. I had it a little off-center, so I trimmed a bit off of the white A2 panel and mounted it in the center of a black panel to create a bit of a mat and center things up!
Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed this little foray into some holiday crafting. I was listening to my Pentatonix holiday albums while creating this project, and it’s totally got me wishing that summer would go a-way ASAP. (As though I didn’t already wish this miserably hot weather would disappear.) Anyway, thanks for stopping by today! Have a marvelous week!

EMIly, I have been following your beautiful creativity for some time. In fact when I watch a celebrity game show and they have an Emil,y I immediate shout out, Midgett! I couldn’t find a way to email you directly from your blog. Would you mind sharing where you purchase the lovely pens you often have in the pictures with your great cards? As in today’s poinsettia cart post.
Stunning
Fabulous time to start making Christmas cards, so no last minute rush, like I do every time . Your colouring is awesome on these blooms, they do really look as if you could reach out & touch the soft velvetness of there petals. Can’t wait to see what else you inspire us with a Have a great week x
