Hello Everyone! Have you finished making your Christmas cards? I sure hope you still have need to make some more, as I have a Christmas shaker card to share with you today. I used Studio Katia MERRY POINSETTIA stamp set. The flowers from this set are so beautiful and absolutely perfect for any Christmas card!
I stamped the images on Bristol Smooth cardstock with embossing ink and heat embossed them with gold embossing powder. For my medium I chose ZIG watercolour markers. I didn’t use any water here, simply blended with lighter colours.
For the shaker I die cut out a round frame our of golden glitter cardstock using a die from FANCY SCALLOP CIRCLE DIES. I cut out 4 more frames from white cardstock and glued them together, adhering a transparency between them and the golden glittery frame.
Since the frame is pretty big, I decided to glue some GOLD FOIL PEARLS inside the shaker window, before filling it with SPARKLING SEA CONFETTI, which I love to use for winter cards. I also added few GOLD FOIL PEARLS in the middle of each poinsettia. I die cut out a panel out of white woodgrain cardstock using largest die from MERRY POINSETTIA DIES.
After I adhered coloured images on top of the shaker frame, I decided to add a sentiment. The shaker frame was large enough to stamp a sentiment onto the shaker background (by the way, if you don’t like making shaker cards for winter holidays, you can simply use the layout and stamp the sentiment inside the frame), but I felt I needed another glittery element here and so I die cut out word MERRY from MERRY POINSETTIA DIES out of the same glitter cardstock as the frame and three more out of white cardstock. I glued them together shifting top die cut slightly off to give it a white shadow. I adhered everything onto a dark blue cardstock from my stash to match the colour of the poinsettias and the SPARKLING SEA CONFETTI.
Thank you for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!!
