Hi there,
It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I decided to take a break from Christmas cards and make a masculine card for a friend.
Take a look:
It has been a while since I made a clean and simple card with a masculine feel to it, so it was about time to make one! 🙂 I started making this card by stamping out and coloring the cacti from Cactus hugs stamp set. I used three different shapes of cactus which will then help me creating a simple scene. To color it in, I used typical colors, so the card looks even cleaner.
Next, I ink blended my background for which I used three colors of blue distress oxide ink and wonderful Studio Katia brushes. I started with dark color at the top and then blend it out with the middle and lightest shade. Once I was happy with the ombe that I got, I sprinkled some white paint on to, to make sure that the background goes nicely with my card.
Then, I took a piece of white card stock in the size of my card base and die cut an oval from Elegant scalopped oval dies set. I positioned it towards the top of the paper, which ensures that I have a big amount of white left at the bottom. I then glued the die cut piece directly over the ink blended background.
The last thing I added to this card was a sentiment that reads ‘Thinking of you’ and can be found in Potted plants stamp set. I used black ink on white card stock, so the sentiment doesn’t pop up too much.
The only thing left to do was to glue everything together using glue and double sided foam tape!
This finishes up this clean and simple masculine card! Let me know in the comments which SK stamp set do you use most for these kind of cards!
Hugs,
Kaja
