Colorful Delight, You’re So Sweet Shaker Card

Hey there, crafty friends! Welcome back to my colorful corner of the crafting world. This is Jyoti from CARDSNCRAFTSNYC again. Today, I want to share a super sweet and vibrant card design that will surely bring a smile to your face. So, let’s jump right into the creative process!

To begin with, I grabbed SPRING ROSES STAMP SET and decided to go all out with bright and cheerful colors. Armed with my collection of Copic markers, I unleashed a burst of orange, blue, and pink shades onto the stamped image. After that, I used the SPRING ROSES DIE SET to perfectly cut out the beautifully colored roses.

The COPIC colors I used:

Red flower: R89 R85 R83

Blu flower: B01 B02 B04

Yellow flower: YR12 YR15 YR24

Leaves: YG17 YG13 YG11

Now, here’s where the fun really began. With my die cutting machine at the ready, I couldn’t resist throwing FANCY CIRCLE DIE to create some extra pizzazz. I chose white cardstock and ran it through the machine, resulting in some fantastic circular shapes. I used only one of the circles.

Next up, it was time to work on the background. I grabbed a piece of paper and reached for my ink blending tools, along with some Carved Pumpkin, Seedless Preserve, and Salty Ocean distress oxide inks. With a bit of artistic flair, I blended these vibrant colors together, creating a captivating gradient effect.

But I wasn’t done there! I wanted to add some texture and interest to the background, so I grabbed my HEART-FETTI stencil and some texture paste. With a few careful swipes, I applied the paste to the stencil, leaving behind an enchanting pattern on the ink-blended background. Once dry, I trimmed this piece into a compact 3″ x 6″ size, as I was using mini slimline shaker pockets for this project.

With the shaker pockets ready to go, it was time to add a touch of sparkle and magic. I carefully sprinkled some IRIDESCENT MAGNOLIA FUSION SEQUIN MIX inside the pocket, creating a mesmerizing display of shimmer. I then folded the flaps of the shaker pocket and sealed it shut, ensuring that the sequins would stay securely in place.

Now, let’s assemble this delightful creation! Using a 6 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ card base, I attached the shaker pocket to the card front using a strong double-sided adhesive. Next, I positioned the circle die-cut right in the center of the card, adding an eye-catching focal point. To add a touch of elegance and dimension, I used foam tape to attach the gorgeously colored flower along the bottom left of the circle.

For the sentiment, I turned to the BERRY SWEET SENTIMENTS, which came with a coordinating die. I couldn’t resist creating a bunch of sentiments to have on hand, but for this particular card, I chose the one that read “you’re so sweet.” Placing it right in the middle of the flower, I added a heartfelt message that perfectly matched the card’s theme.

To add a final touch of charm, I had some white hearts that I cut out using the MINI SLIMLINE SMALL HEARTS DIE. I arranged three hearts on the top and three on the bottom of the card, creating a delightful embellishment that tied everything together.

And just like that, my vibrant “you’re so sweet” card was complete! The combination of bold colors, a charming shaker element, and heartfelt sentiments made this project an absolute joy to create. I hope it inspired you to get crafty and spread some sweetness to your loved ones.
