Hi there it’s Tracey back here again today sharing a birthday card that’s perfect for a crafty friend. I have been building up my stash of birthday cards lately and creating cards to share with a crafty friends has been just what I needed to kick away those winter blues.

To start the card off I created a blended background panel using the newly released Ink Splash stencil. I blended Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade to create the base layer. I flicked some water over the ink blending and picked up some of the colour using paper towel. Once dry I trimmed the panel down to 4″ x 5 1/4″.

Next I stamped both of the stamps from the Artsy Trimmings stamp set using Copic friendly ink and then cut the two pieces out with the co-odinating Artsy Trimming die set. I wanted to select certain crafty tools from the two stamped pieces that would fit along the bottom of my A2 sized card base and I didn’t want them to appear in the order they were stamped. So I was able to easily fussy cut only the tools I wanted and then I coloured them with Copic markers.

I covered the front of my top folding card base with black cardstock and then attached the ink blended background panel. Along the bottom of the panel I adhered the die cut crafty tools in the order that I wanted them to appear with foam tape. Near the top of the panel I added one of my favourite sentiments from the Birthday Greetings stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. To finish the card off I added some crystals for a sparkly finish.

Thanks so much for stopping in today to create with me. See you again next time!
