Floral Christmas Card by Galina Filippenko

December 11, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Cards, CAS, Winter Holidays

Hi everyone! As always, I try to make a lot of Christmas cards and one of my favorite stamp to make quick cards is POINSETTIA TRIMMINGS. This set consist of two border stamps, I can use them as one background stamp or use them separately.

At first, I cut out a card panel using large die from Dotted set 3 and Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. Next I heat embossed flowers with white embossing powder. I colored all images with copic markers. If I colored out of line and make mess on the white lines I simply swiped ink with finger, but it would be better to use dry cloth 🙂

From the same cardstock I cut a label and heat embossed a sentiment, using again white embossing powder. Also I add one additional layer of red cardstock under the sentiment and card panel. At last I cover flowers and red cardstock with liquid shimmer (Wink of Stella pen).

Supplies:

POINSETTIA TRIMMINGS STAMP SET

DOTTED PATTERNS SET 3 | CREATIVE DIE

DARLING RIBBON & FRAMES | CREATIVE DIES

Neenah Environment Desert Storm | 100lb Cardstock Paper

Hi Galina, This is a beautiful card! I want to try it. How did you get the red card stock to be the perfect size for the borders? I like to use borders, but I haven’t found the secret to making them as perfect as yours. Thank you!

Thank you, Kim! This time I used leftover piece of red cardstock and cut corners with scissors 🙂 I was lucky enough to find perfect sized piece in my stash)) But usually I glue my card panel on a bigger cardstock and then cut each size with metal ruler and paper knife to get nice borders. In such way I cut a label border

Awesome Galina, I love the Dotted die cut set and this Poinsettia Trimmings stamp set is still one of my favorites this season.
