Gingerbread Cookies with Svitlana

October 23, 2017 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Winter Holidays

Hi friends!

Svitlana is here today. I want to share a fun card using the cutest ginger cookies from Sweet Holiday Stamp Set. They’re extremely adorable and in my opinion are must haves if you like gingerbread theme and cute stamps 😉
I have a very strange muse, sometimes it’s hard to get along with her. I know many crafters can get inspired by a product or color combo or just sit down and make a wow card. My cards often start with an idea. Or an image I want to turn into a card.
For the card today I wanted to create a look of wooden table with flour spread onto it and some ginger cookies scattered around.

I started making my card by trimming a piece of design paper with wood planks design to a size of an A2 card base front.
Then I clear embossed the sentiment in the right bottom part of it. Following by spraying it with a white spray. I tried to spray it in a way that it would looked like flour.

Clear embossed sentiment created resist effect and I got this look like it was written with a finger in the flour. The only problem was is that clear embossing created that raised relief. Which you won’t see in real life of “written in flour words”. So I removed this relief by ironing it off.

Next I stamped ginger cookies onto a white cardstock, colored them with COPICs and die cut using matching dies.
I covered frosting areas with white gel pen and added some highlights to hearts and apples.

Lastly I adhered them onto the “table” and called it a card. Hope you liked my idea and maybe will give it a try!
