Happy Birthday Shaker Card

June 3, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Shaker Cards

Hello, crafty friends!

Today I’m on the blog with a birthday shaker card that is so festive!

To be honset, shaker cards kind of freak me out sometimes. But the method I did on today’s card is very easy to do, so let’s dive in!

I began by die cutting several (probably 6 or 7) card panels, using the Half Striped Cover Die and then I glued them all together, using liquid adhesive.

After the striped panels were assembled, I glued them down to a cut and scored 4.25 x 5.5 inch card panel, using liquid adhesive again.

So, now you can probably see where this is going, right?!

Because we cut so many panels, we’ve basically built up the “walls” of our shaker, making it possible for our shaker bits and pieces to fill in the areas nicely and without problem.

Choosing which shaker pieces to use was pretty easy, because I knew this was going to be a birthday card! And nothing says birthday more than SPRINKLES! So I used the Chunky Sprinkles, and filled the open areas of the bottom right side of my card.

I cut down an acetate sheet to 4.25 x 5.5 inches, and then glued that down on top of the shaker-filled card, and then I cut one more striped panel using that Striped Cover Die before gluing that down on top of the acetate.

To finish off the card, I used the hexagonal die from the same set and cut a piece of light pink cardstock. I embossed a sentiment from the Floral Wreath stamp set and then glued that finished sentiment piece down to my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today, and have a great day!

Kelly
