Just a Note with Laurie

April 24, 2017 / CATEGORIES - Cards, Floral Cards

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!!  Laurie here to share a card made using the beautiful flower image from the Thank You So Much stamp set along with some fabulous dies!
I started by stamping my image onto watercolour paper with Versamark Ink.  I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I stamped the image slightly off centre and to the lower right of the panel.  Before colouring in the image, I used the tag die from the Dotted Shaker Tag 1 set and cut it so that there was some of the flower image on the tag and on the panel.
SUPPLIES:
Hello Alice Clear Stamp Set
Dotted Shaker Tag 1 Creative Die
Thank You So Much Clear Stamp Set
Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Die Set
Luminous Lavender Sequins
I wanted to go with a very subtle colour so I chose ONE marker.  It’s a very pale shade of purple from the Tombow Dual Brush Pen set, which happens to be #553.  I simply swiped the marker across the inner portion of the petals and pulled the colour out with a bit of water.
I cut down the watercolour panel using the largest frame die from the Darling Ribbon and Dotted Frames Die Set which has the exact dotted detail as the tag!  I also die cut the ribbon from this same set out of watercolour paper and lightly coloured it using the same marker.
I adhered the panel directly onto a white A2, top-folding card base and foam mounted the tag for some inlaid die cutting.  The sentiment comes from the Hello Alice stamp set.  It was at this point I discovered that the bow was too big and would cover the sentiment.  So I modified it with a few snips of my scissors and voila, a custom sized bow!!
For the sequins, I decided to use some Luminous Lavender in both the 4mm and 6mm size.  This added a bit of contrast to the light purple watercolour.
Thank you for stopping by today.
Wishing you the best week ever!!!
Laurie

Beautiful – I love that it’s mostly white on white with a hint of the purple. It’s impressive that you got such dimension from the one marker. Beautifully done. Xx
