Hello Everyone!
Since today is Thursday, and many crafters often do throwback Thursdays, I thought I’ll revisit you some of the cards I made for the March Release Full Release Video.
First card uses fun Studio Katia European Window die. I love that it has a dotted frame and has a very elegant look. You can use it as is, but I wanted to make it into a shaker using acetate sheets, colour matches perfectly. To keep sequins and confetti in different spots of the shaker, I placed foam tape strip in the middle of the window as well. I think it works much better than.
I coloured the images with alcohol markers and adhered them onto the window, popping the cacti image onto a piece of foam tape. I stamped the sentiment on a separate strip which I foam mounted on top of another strip of paper with cut out “fish tales”.
My next card I made using GRID COVER die and ALOHA stamp set. I coloured the image with alcohol markers. For the shaker background I used white woodgrain cardstock and filled the shaker with lots of different sequins and confetti, playing with the colours I used on flowers. I used BLUE SKY, SPARKLING SEA CONFETTI, MAJESTIC CONFETTI and SILVER FOIL STARS.
In order for the sequins to be present on both sides of the flower image, I’ve added a strip of foam tape, hiding it under the image. This way I will always have sequins on both sides of the shaker. I wanted to add a sentiment that wouldn’t stand out too much, that’s why I used 30lb vellum and heat embossed a Thank you sentiment using white embossing powder.
For my next card I used beautiful SHAKER HEART die. I used the middle heart as a template to pop in all the small pieces and added a heart shaped frame around it. I like the look I achieved this way.
I made this into a thank you card by adding a Thank you for kindness sentiment. I didn’t want a sentiment to stand out and take away from the die cut heart, so I used clear glitter embossing powder for the word kindness, I stamped the words ‘thank you for your’ with embossing ink and covered them with golden perfect pearls. It adds very fun look to the card. I wish it was possible to take a better picture of this.
My last two cards I made using SCALLOP HEARTS die, making one into a shaker.
Similarly to the previous two shaker cards I used foam tape strips here, to separate all heart windows and have crystals and sequins move in them separately instead of running all over the card and hiding under the paper. I added thin sentiments, stamping them with the ink that was slightly darker shade of my cardstock, as I wanted them to be visible, but not take away from the shaker windows.
For this card I dry embossed the hearts using the die from SCALLOP HEARTS die set. I embellished the card with die cut heart frames I had left over from the previous card. I stamped xoxo in some of the hears and covered pink heart in the middle with glitter pen.
For the inside I used a negative die cut from SHAKER HEART die and lightly ink blended the middle of it. I stamped Happy Birthday with the same blue ink.
Hope you like all different tips and ideas I shared with you today!
Have a wonderful and inspiring day!
