Ocean scene with Kaja

August 31, 2018 / CATEGORIES - Cards

Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I have a cute ocean card for you. I know summer is almost over, but I just couldn’t resist making one more card with this theme. 🙂

Take a look at the card:

First, I took my paper trimmer and cut down a piece of white paper that was slightly smaller than the card base. Then, I took small rectangle from Dotted patterns: set 2 die set and die cut it in the middle of that white panel. I decided that I want to have two windows, so I die cut another rectangle above the first one.

The die does a beautiful outside and inside dotted edge, so I decided to use both pieces. I took the inner parts and then I ink blended distress oxides in Tumbled glass and Broken china colors on top. Once I was happy with the blend, I added some water splatters for the ocean look.

I stamped out the images from three summer stamp sets: Mermaid for each other, Shell-ebration and Under the sea. I colored the images in using alcohol markers and I die cut everything using their coordinating dies.

Next thing I did was the sentiment. I didn’t want to mess it up, so I took my Misti stamping tool and a stamp saying ‘you’re so wonderful’ from Blooming bunch stamp set. I then stamped the sentiment directly in the middle under my two windows.

Then, I started possitioning. First I popped up the white panel with some foam tape to give my card some dimention. Once that was in place I put the ink blended rectangles back in their place, but I used double sided tape so they are glue directly on the card base. I used liquid glue for most of my colored images, the only thing that I popped up was the turtle.

The last thing I added was some glossy accents details on the fish and sea-shells, which finished up my card.

That’s it for today! Thank you so much for joining me! See you next time.
