Hi there, it’s Tracey back again today with two elegant card designs using just one stencil that would be perfect to mass produce for Christmas. I used two different methods to add elegance to the cards.

I started off by ink blending two 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ panels of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I used the Studio Katia Ink Blender Brushes to blend Distress Oxide Inks on to the panels. I used Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers for the first panel and Scattered Straw, Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries for the second. If you were to use regular Distress Inks your results would be more vibrant. The Distress Oxides inks yield a softer blend. I die cut both panels with the large rectangle die from the Studio Katia Darling Ribbons Frames die set.

After the ink blending was dry I lay the blue panel down on my work surface and placed the Studio Katia Snowflake Creative Stencil on top of the panel in the bottom left of the card front. I taped it down with Post-it tape and ink blended Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink from the centre of the stencil out. I used Pixie Spray to add some tac to the back of the stencil to keep it front shifting. After I removed the stencil I put the panel into my spray box and gave it a generous spray of Shimmer Spray. The Shimmer Spray has a beautiful sparkle and because the spray it wet it oxidizes the ink. Both add a lovely texture to the card while keeping it flat for mailing. The sentiment from the Studio Katia Poinsettia Border stamp set was white embossed in the upper right corner once the panel was completely dry.

For the second red panel I once again I used the Studio Katia Snowflake Creative Stencil to ink blend Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide Ink on to the same bottom left bottom left of the card front. I love the way the purple ink pops off the red panel. Once the panel was dry I embossed the same sentiment from the Studio Katia Poinsettia Border stamp set with gold pearl embossing power in the upper right corner. I wanted to add even more elegance and dimension to this card so I added some Studio Katia Gold Foil Pearls to the snowflake using Studio Katia glue.

Two cards created with the same stencil but with a completely different feel just by using brighter and bolder colours along with gold embossing and pearls for added elegance.
Thanks so much for stopping in today and I’ve inspired you to get your stencils out to create some quick and easy cards.
