Word dies are hugely popular in crafting at the moment, I have to confess to having a huge weakness for them and own a lot. But we often use them to accompany an image, or in place of a sentiment, they can however be used on their own to create some really fun cards.
Today I am sharing a card I created using the Friend word die from the Spring Bouquet co ordinating die set. this is lovely flowing font and a nice size die too.
When creating a card like this I like to use card stock with a slight texture, I tend to use Core’dinations but there is plenty of different brands that offer textured cardstock.
I wanted to go with a rainbow type theme so repeatedly die cut the die from different colours. I trimmed down some Neenah card to just under A2 size and then worked out roughly where i wanted each die and started adhering them into place.
Once they was all done and dry I trimmed all the excess off, you want to make sure that some go off the edge of the card as this gives a better finished look to the card.
I used a sentiment from the Japanese Peony Stamp set and heat embossed it onto a strip of black card which I adhered to the panel with foam tape and then I adhered the whole piece to a pink card base.
A quick and simple way to use those word dies and this can be done in so many ways, you could use all white card stock for a soft white on white look or even use metallic or inked pieces of card there really is many possibilities.
I hope I have given you some inspiration for your word dies. Thank you so much for stopping by today.
Have a great day and happy crafting.
