Snowflake Stencil

November 7, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Other

Hey lovelies, Tracy here with you today sharing a card I have created using the beautiful Floral Snowflake Stencil.

I am a huge fan of stencils as there is so much you can create with them, one technique that is easy but I have used for a while is heat embossing.

I have found the easiest way to apply the clear embossing ink through a stencil is to use an ink blending tool and to “pound” the tool rather thank using a blending motion, for me this gives even coverage…even in those tricky areas.

I have also found with stencils they look great if you offset them, for this card I have offset it at the top so the top part of the stencil is off the card.

I always stencil onto Neenah Card or a good stamping cardstock as with most things a good quality card will make all the difference.

For this card I have used WOW embossing powder in Cloud 9. As you can see in the picture below it is a beautiful holographic embossing powder which works perfectly for snowflakes.

As I wanted the snowflake to be the main focal point i kept the rest of the card simple and used the let it snow word dies from the Happy Pawlidays die set mounted to a sentiment strip. To add a little something extra to the strip I used one of the simple dotted borders 1 dies along the bottom.

I adhered the whole card panel to a slightly larger piece of coloured card and then mounted this onto a A2 card base and finished off with some Majestic Sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you to use stencils, they really are a fab thing to have in your crafty kit.

Happy crafting and have an amazing day.
