Hello everyone!
Svitlana is here today sharing a cute card using stamps from the recent release Foxes and And The Fox Says.
Aren’t those foxies adorable? They’re made to snuggle with. I used a stamp with two snuggling foxes, which is a solid one. You can use it by just stamping a regular way. But I wanted to make my card kind of “watercolory”, so I did no line coloring here. A stamping and coloring was made with distress inks.
First I stamped foxed with Rusty Hinge onto a Tim Holtz watercolor paper, using the second generation stamping. Which means I first stamped onto a scratch paper and then stamped onto a piece of watercolor one. Next I colored them using Rusty Hinge and Spiced Marmalade inks. I pressed the ink pad onto my craft mat, was picking them up with a damp brush and colored foxes.
Usually when I color with Distress inks I like using waterbrushes, as they have sturdy but flexible plastic bristles. But I never put water inside. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t like the amount of water that flows from them. I don’t even press and still get like a puddle on my paper. For some techniques it can be beneficial, but for coloring small images I prefer to pick up water from a glass. This way I have more control of it.
After coloring red parts of foxes the same way I colored eyes and noses using Black Soot ink.
Then I masked foxes off and stamped the tree stump using Ground Espresso. Then it was colored with Ground Espresso and Gathered Twigs. Foxes on the stump then were cut out using scissors. I also stamped, colored and cut out a tiny leaf, which then adhered to the stub.
I cut a watercolor panel and created a simple watercolor washes background, using Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the top part and Mowed Lawn for the bottom.
The foxes were foam mounted to the panel.
I decided that this card needs something so I stamped several tiny hearts from the same set using Carved Apple and colored them with the same ink. Then they were covered with glossy accents.
To finish off my card I stamped a sentiment from And The Fox Says set, foam mounted in onto a Peanut Fudge card base and added several sequins from Foxy sequins fusion.
Have a wonderful day!
