Hello dear crafty friends!
I think we crafters wish we had all kinds of time to create, but realistically, we don’t, and every now and then, we need to make a card in a pinch of time. Today, I’m bringing two cards that I made fairly fast, using the Mandala Stencil as a focal point and the Hi Hot Foil Plate as the main sentiment.
Here are the steps for these cards:
-Stick the Mandala Stencil on a piece of heavy white cardstock and blend the distress inks in the colour of your choice. I used a mix of pinks and plums for one panel. And pink, plum and mustard for the second panel. Trim your panels slightly smaller than an A2 card and set aside.
-For the foiled Hi sentiment. Prepare your foiling machine with the appropriate cardstock and time required by the system you have. I used gold and pink foils. Once the foiling was done, I used the matching die to cut the sentiments out.
-Prepare two A2 cardbase by adding a layer of plum cardstock. One keeping the same size of 4.25 X 5.5″ and another one just a little smaller so it leaves a thin white frame around the card.
-Adhere the stenciled panels on top using Studio Katia foam tape.
-Glue the foiled sentiment on a corner. I then went through my stash of previously stamped and embossed sentiments, and selected 2, from the Simply Hi stamp set and placed them right on top of the Hi.
-Adhere some pearls to add texture and sparkle to the card.
I made these cards in just under one hour. This isn’t just a quick card making tip that also shows that one doesn’t always need to use too many techniques to create a catchy card. In this case, the bold colours and design of this Mandala, do all the job!
I hope you like it and that you feel inspired by it. Thanks for reading and see you next time!
