Hi friends! Svitlana is here today.
It’s always fun to find the ways of using stamps not the way they were intended. Today I want to share a card featuring flying lions from Birthday Lions set which I turned into swimmers.
SUPPLIES:
Darling Ribbon & Dotted Frames | Creative Dies
This set has several adorable lions and some accessories to use with them. One of the lions is presented in kind of flying on a balloon posture (I’m assuming this as there a balloon stamp in this set as well). But I also thought that it could be fun to see this posture as a swimmer using the breaststroke.
To make my card I first cut three panels out of white cardstock using a dotted rectangle die from Darling Ribbon & Dotted Frames set. I stamped ” water waves” on them using a balloon string from Birthday Lions.
On each panel I stamped waves up to different heights. Next I hand cut two panels using wave impressions as a guide. Making one smaller then another. I inked both panels using Mermaid Lagoon and Broken China distress inks. And added some texture by spraying with water.
The third panel, which is my card main panel I inked with Tumbled Glass distress inks inks at the top part, and using Mermaid Lagoon and Broken China for the bottom. I made a quick hand cut mask of waves to mask off the top part. And I also added water droplets texture to the bottom part.
The lions were colored with pencils and fussy cut using scissors.
I adhered the panel onto a white card base, following by adhering waves layers and placing lions in between. Using Stitched Loops Die die I die cut the Sun and colored it by inking with Mustard Seed distress ink.
I used thick glue dots to adhere all elements, as they’re all colored and I didn’t want white foam squares to be seen through.
The sentiment from Duo Talk set was stamped onto the bottom layer. Lastly I added several Enchanted Sea Sequins and called it a card 😉
Hope you liked my idea of how you can use these lions. Have a wonderful Friday!
