Thank You / Fall Cards | Theme Week – Day 3 with Rowena

October 4, 2017 / CATEGORIES - Autumn/Fall Cards, Cards, Floral Cards, Thank You Cards, Theme Week

Hello, Everyone! We continue our special Theme Week – Thank You / Fall Cards as we are approaching Canadian Thanksgiving. Thank you cards are the kind of cards that are made in every season. We hope that our Team will inspire you to create beautiful cards with Studio Katia products.

Hi there it’s Rowena here, today I’m sharing a fall thank you card featuring one of the newest stamp sets from the recent release called Giving Thanks and coordinating dies.

Since joining Studio Katia’s DT, I’ve been enjoying creating shaker cards lately. You just can’t help it with so many beautiful and yummy confettis, sequins, and crystals in the store, you just can’t help but make a shaker card everytime. Why not, right?! They are loads of fun!! So make sure to check them out. Anyways, let’s get started.

First, I created my background by blending vintage photo, antique linen, and a bit of rusty hinge distress inks on a watercolor paper. I then sprinkled some clean water using a small brush to create the distress look. Once it was all dry, I splatterd a bit of watered down rusty hinge distress inks for added interest.

Next I die cut the panel to create the shaker window element of my card using Fancy Square creative dies. For this I used only the circle die to create the window. I adhered my panel with foam tape and added acetate for the shaker.

For sequins I used a combination of the following: majestic confetti, gold foil confetti, iridescent clear crystals mix and a bit of orange from the wicked fusion.

Once all of my shaker window is completed, I colored my image with copics and die cut the beautiful bouquet pumpkin with it’s matching die. To finish the card I used the giving thanks sentiment from the same set in chocolate brown ink. I die cut the word thanks with the bubble die. I love how the set gives you two options to die cut the word ‘thanks’.

That finishes another card for today! I had so much fun making this card and I hope you all got inspired. Till next time and happy crafting!!

Hugs,
Rowena
