Hi friends!
Svitlana is here today. This week is a theme week here at Studio Katia blog and we;re sharing ideas of last minute Christmas cards.
Many of you can relate, that no matter how many holiday cards you made starting for example from July – when it’s time to send them out you always need more. And if you started making holiday cards only in September – the situation can be tougher. And that’s where quick and last minute card ideas comes in handy.
I want to share one design, which is quick to make and suitable for mass producing. For the card I’m showing today I used Merry Poinsettia Stamp Set and the set of matching dies.
First I white embossed poinsettias onto a red cardstock and leaves onto a green one. If you don’t have color cardstock you can make one by blending some ink onto a white cardstock.
Next I die-cut all elements using Merry Poinsettia Die Set. I made an A2 card base out of white cardstock and stamped a sentiment onto it using red ink. Lastly I foam mounted poinsettia flowers and leaves onto the card base.
This was a very quick card to make. Merry Poinsettia set is great for both coloring and using outlined images as is. They’re quite detailed and very beautiful. This design can be modified using different colors and papers. For example you can white emboss flowers on vellum and adhere onto a raft or dark card base. You can make a quite watercolor wash background and use it to make poinsettias out of. You can alternate colors of flowers and backgrounds getting totally different looks from the same design.
Hope you like my idea and have a great week!
