Thinking of You Friend with Tracey

by Tracey M

Hi there it’s Tracey back today and I hope that you are staying well and coping with social distancing. I created a card that I hope will bring a smile to a friend that I haven’t been able to see in a while.

I started out by stamping the Peony Trimmings stamp set using black Copic friendly ink, I only stamped the bottom peony panel. The flowers were cut with the co-ordinating Peony Trimmings Creative Dies. I used simple two shade colouring with the following Copic markers: RV52, RV55, YG03, YG17, Y13, Y15

To create the background I used the Heart Fetti Creative Stencil and blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink over the stencil with the Studio Katia blending brushes. Before removing the stencil I went over it again with Moonstone Nuvo Glimmer Paste for some sparkle and texture. The Glimmer Paste is transparent so you can still see the blue hearts through it. Once dry I cut the pretty scalloped rectangle using the Dotted Patterns Set 4 creative die and adhered the peony flowers to the bottom of the scalloped panel with Studio Katia White Foam Tape just above the bottom scallop border

The sentiment is from the Peony Trimmings stamp set and I did a little stamp surgery to create the phrase ‘Thinking of You Friend’. I die cut the sentiment using one of the sentiment strip dies from the Peony Trimmings Creative Dies.

I added the completed scalloped panel to a soft aqua card base also with foam tape. Lots of dimension but still thin enough to send regular mail. To finish the card off I added some Studio Katia Iridescent Snow Crystals. In the photo the crystals appear to be clear, but actually the color changes when seen from different angles. and the match the colour of my flowers perfectly.

Thank you for stopping in today–stay home and please stay safe.
