Hi everyone!
It’s Erica back on the Studio Katia blog and YouTube channel today, with a bit of hot foiling as my spring release package finally arrived! YAY!!!

In this video I have used the Spring Roses hot foil plate and I’ve also gone over some of the things that work for me when it comes to foiling. I did not always get great results with foiling, but after watching numerous YouTube videos by Yana Smakula and the Pinkfresh team I have had much better results!
Some key points for great results:
-Make sure your hot foil plate is evenly heated, as well as very hot. I do find that if I leave my machine on for a while before I do the actual foiling, I consistently get better results.
-The smoother the paper the better! It also helps if it’s nice and thick, which I thought was totally counterintuitive, but it’s true. 300gr per square meter/110lbs and up, are fab.
-When rolling it through your diecutting machine, go slow!
Practice makes perfect, so don’t give up!
