Winter Wishes with Tracey | Welcome New DT Member!

January 7, 2020 / CATEGORIES - Birthday Cards, Cards, Shaker Cards, Winter Holidays

Hello Everyone! We have amazing news to share with you today! We have new designer joining our team – Tracey McNeely. We are very excited and are looking forwards to seeing all her wonderful creations with Studio Katia products! Leave comments for her under this post in order to win a $15 Gift Certificate to Studio Katia Store.

——————–

Hi there it’s Tracey here today and I am so excited to be joining the design team at Studio Katia! My blog is In My Creative Opinion and I would love to see you visit me over there. I hope that I can inspire you to have some fun with your Studio Katia products and maybe even show you a few tips on how to use what you have in new and different ways!

To get things started I have a card for you today that could work for any occasion during the winter months!

I started out by ink blending a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ panel of cardstock using Distress Oxide inks using the Studio Katia Blender Brushes to create a two colour blend using Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks. Next I flicked some gold watercolour paint on to the panel by tapping two paint brushes together and set it aside to dry. Once it was completely dry I die cut the Studio Katia Elegant Oval Die out from the blended panel.

I placed the blended panel over a white top folding card base without gluing it down just so I could see where I needed to stamp the sentiment so it would show through the window. The sentiments from the Studio Katia Poinsettia Border stamp set were stamped with clear embossing ink and then embossed with gold pearl embossing powder.

To make the shaker component I adhered a piece of clear acetate behind the window on the front blended panel. Then I added two layers of foam tape to the back of the same blended panel. Two layers gives my shaker bits room to move around. For the contents of my shaker I used the Studio Katia Iridescent Ice Flakes. I placed them them right on top of the embossed sentiment on the white card base and spread them out. The top blended panel was added to the card base so that the window reveals the sentiment and the pretty shaker contents inside.

Thank you so much for stopping in today, I hope you enjoyed my first post with Studio Katia.
We’ll see you again next time.

Tracey

Oh wow, I LOVE how you went from one green to another so seamlessly. I think that Cracked Pistachio is my new favorite color….Everything about this card is gorgeous–the gold embossing, the shaker elements, the scalloped edge…..

It’s kind of ironic that I learned about Studio Katia from Tracey M. during her fabulous 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year. I immediately fell in love with Studio Katia and its wonderful products. I reached out to sweet Katia, and now Studio Katia is a proud sponsor for 2020 at Word Art Wednesday (challenge blog). I’m SO super excited to see what Tracey will create for Studio Katia with their AMAZING products, CONGRATS, Tracey!
    Blessings,

Beautiful card, I love the addition of the gold watercolor on top of the green, it brings the gold from the inside forward. The oval cutout for the sentiment/ shaker is so sweet too. Just a lovely little card❣
