Hey guys it’s Tracy here. I hope you are all having a great week ?
One of my all time favourite Studio Katia sets is Together We Bloom, it was the first Studio Katia Set I ever owned and I truly lovely working with it.
I am a colorist, that is my main passion but i do understand not everyone is and that people often overlook sets like this if they aren’t colourists.
So for todays post I wanted to show that you don’t need to be a colourist to work with a set like this.
I am going to be working with alcohol inks but this technique also works with dye inks, you just need to leave them longer to dry.
To create this look I used alcohol inks onto Vellum, nothing fancy i just used a blending tool and covered the sheets with it. I did want quite a soft color tone so what i then did was stamp onto the BACK of the coloured vellum, if you want a stronger colour stamp onto the front, but make sure it is fully dry with no sticky areas.
I used white detail embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp to heat embossed these, remember when working with heat embossing and vellum to be care, vellum is brittle so I tend to heat the paper in short bursts making sure not to keep my heat tool on the vellum too long.
Once this was all done I used the coordinating dies to cut the pieces out.
I used a sentiment from the You’re So Ranunculus stamp set and heat embossed it onto a strip of black card stock. I then lined up two of the dies from the Dotted Ovals die set onto some gold card to create a frame and die cut the piece out.
Once I had all my elements I went about constructing the card, I adhered the oval frame using foam tape for dimension and then adhered all the other pieces around the inside, again using foam tape on a couple for dimension. Once I was happy I adhered this to the A2 top folding card base and added a sprinkle of Mint Dreams Crystal mix.
This is such an easy technique with so many different possibilities you can use various mediums and also really play around with your alcohol inks.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a great day.
Happy Crafting!

I like how the stamping on Vellum looks with the inks. Another technique I learned today. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
